A year since Ma passed.
Been a helluva year. It flew right by.
That first few months were long delayed home repair projects.
Deciding what of hers to keep, give away, and throw out.
Reading piles of books and talking to internet friends is about all that's kept me sane.
On April 10th of this year, I got hospital sick.
Dad's had constant testing shit.
My paternal grandmother isn't doing so great. She's not long for this world.
We tried to adopt her cat, but my cat howled at her to establish dominance, and she said "fuck this" ripped the screen, ran out into the woods, and vanished forever.
So...yeah.
Helluva year.
Not my favorite.

Eighteen years of Shmegalamonga!!!
Year 18.
I think we just might survive Trump overall, but he's gonna take the economy over the cliff as he croaks miserably and pathetically. His cult seems to want that.
It's really fucking sick.
No new news on my ex-friends who turned into TERFs.
Every now and then, I think "was there something I could have done better with how I handled it?"
But no. Every time I cycle through it, it comes back to "no".
It's them. They suck.
When you let "social contagion theory" come out of your keyboard unironically, and take it seriously as a concept, you're no better than the guy who says "(insert minority group) is an infestation" or "(insert minority group) is poisoning the blood of the country".
And even if you want to argue it's a serious scientific concept with an unfortunate sounding name....fuck off anyway.
The so-called scientists involved should have picked a better name, and they were smart enough to do so. They knew exactly what they were doing.
It's Nazi shit no matter how tiny you dice the pieces.
And, either the people passing this crap along know damned well what they're doing, or they're total morons.
But people that stupid can fall for Joe Rogan, Bill Maher, and Bari Weiss, so stupid vs evil really makes no difference.
It's just evil.
Cry all the crocodile tear you want. It's gaslighting.
In fact, everything I'm reading shows how fascists tick, and backs me up.
Especially Stephen King. He forsaw all this shit. And not just in "Dead Zone".
"Firestarter" "Tommyknockers" "The Long Walk" it's all right there.
So, yeah, that's where I am this year.

Star Wars Day reborn!
Yeah, what the Hell.
We've finally got a movie coming this year. Be dumb to give up on it now.
It's midnight here, but Google's midnight is 3 AM, so legally, I still have time left.
"Mandalorian and Grogu" drops on the 22nd.
I'll probably go see it.
Its been 7 years since "The Rise Of Skywalker".
Damned near the 10 years that came between "Sith" and "Awakens".
Its been a fucked up gloomy introspective year.
Hopefully "Mando & Grogu" will deliver the Star Wars high.
"Spaceballs: The New One" is shot, and coming soon.
Definitely gonna try to see that.
Yeah, there's things to look forward to.
I'll keep dragging myself by my fingernails.
Why not? I got this far.

Artwork purge.
Scrubbed art by a certain person out of the Harry Hembock and Jade-Shade archives.
If I Brillo scrubbed every trace of of my TERF ex-friends out of here, and they're just passive-aggressive, and sea-lion-y about being icked out by transes (but backing up horrible and dangerous people in the process), then I gotta scrub a guy who's gotten on the "Alex Pretti was asking for it" train.
There's no passivity to that at all.
That's the genuine shit.
Breaks my heart, but once again, it's that line from "Revenge of the Sith".
"You're going down a path I can't follow".
Its been creeping up, and why I had to add this chapter to JS/QD.
I knew this needed doing, but rolling up my sleeves for the arduous chore was something I kept putting off. Today was the day.

RIP Alex Pretti
Like with the Melissa Hortman and Renée Good ones, I had another negative one for a shitty person planned, but decided I wanted a good one of a good person who died fighting for a good cause.
Said it before in the Renée Good one, fuck ICE.
Like Renée Good, don't bother with people that try to victim blame him.
Cut those people out of your life if you can.

When you kill someone who says "it's okay, I'm not mad at ya" and call her a "fucking bitch" after, you're a villain.

Happy New Year!!! (2026)
I went with a leafy/viney sort of thing.
To evoke the vines that grow out of Helen Vaughan's hair in "Helen's Story".
To represent the weird fiction reading rabbit hole I've been on.
I tried tentacles for Cthulhu, and Necronomicon lettering, and the former all sucked, and the latter were all paywalled. So, you all got this instead.
And yes, you can barely make it out, but that's the "I no longer give a fuck" attitude I'm coming at this year with.
Anyhoo!
I said last year....
Well, here we are.
The red-hat animal-monsters got their precious monster overlord.
The death clock is ticking.
We'll see how far along I can go before I get Anne Frank-ed or Navalney-ed.
The animal-monsters are turning on their monster overlord over the burning economy, and delaying release of the Epstein Files.
Pathetic that their faces have to be eaten by the leopard for them to wake from their stupor.
Encouraging that they still can.
There are sill dead-enders that'll go over the cliff for the fucker though.
MAGA is factionalizing over both Trump going senile, and Charlie Kirk being shot.
America is collapsing as a superpower, and maybe it's for the best.
As for being Ann Frank-ed, I've suddenly got twinkles of cautious optimism.
-The 2020's are still sucking pretty fucking hard.
We're half way through 'em, and they're half ruined.
Said this word-for-word last year, and it hasn't changed.
-We've officially put up with Trump for a fucking decade. Even when he was gone for 4 years, he was pulling the strings of the MAGA congress. 😒
-Saw "Superman" and "Fantastic Four: First Steps" at the theaters.
-I turned 50. I'm still processing that shit.
-Still working on my book. Got more optimism about that now.
All the hard elbow-greasy statue chiseling is paying off.
-AI, AI, AI.
-Tech-bros, tech-bros, tech-bros.
-Affordability, affordability, affordability.
I don't even know what to ask of 2026.
I just don't want to starve or freeze to death.
If doomsday comes, make it quick.
If not, then leave me the Hell alone, whole-damned-world.
