Year 18.
Ma passed away. 😔😥
I think we just might survive Trump overall, but he's gonna take the economy over the cliff as he croaks miserably and pathetically. His cult seems to want that.
It's really fucking sick.
No new news on my ex-friends who turned into TERFs.
Every now and then, I think "was there something I could have done better with how I handled it?"
But no. Every time I cycle through it, it comes back to "no".
It's them. They suck.
When you let "social contagion theory" come out of your keyboard unironically, and take it seriously as a concept, you're no better than the guy who says "(insert minority group) is an infestation" or "(insert minority group) is poisoning the blood of the country".
And even if you want to argue it's a serious scientific concept with an unfortunate sounding name....fuck off anyway.
The so-called scientists involved should have picked a better name, and they were smart enough to do so. They knew exactly what they were doing.
It's Nazi shit no matter how tiny you dice the pieces.
And, either the people passing this crap along know damned well what they're doing, or they're total morons.
But people that stupid can fall for Joe Rogan, Bill Maher, and Bari Weiss, so stupid vs evil really makes no difference.
It's just evil.
Cry all the crocodile tear you want. It's gaslighting.
In fact, everything I'm reading shows how fascists tick, and backs me up.
Especially Stephen King. He forsaw all this shit. And not just in "Dead Zone".
"Firestarter" "Tommyknockers" "The Long Walk" it's all right there.
So, yeah, that's where I am this year.

By the way, I'm not recommending "Disclosure Day." Spielberg may have some good movies left in him (he turns 80 in a couple months) but this isn't going down as any classic. It's really just a chase movie with a corny ending. And not like the "A. I. Artificial Intelligence" ending where there was some cool nasty Kubrick layer underneath the corn.
Yeah, it didn't look like anything that lit a fire under my ass to see in the theater. I might catch it when it's so old it's on TNT or FX.
I've got "Carnacki" and "Night Land" on order. "Night Land" is about a solar burnout post-apocalypse where knights who live in a Bladerunner pyramid go out with glowing weed whackers to fight Lovecraft monsters. Came out in 1912 before weed whackers, Bladerunner, or Lovecraft.
The pulp stuff I've read from before 1920 that isn't pre-Lovecraft stuff like Arthur Machen, Oliver Onions, etc. is....well, "Tarzan The Ape Man" and "A Princess Of Mars"...ehhh, I dont want to write those off completely...but they're kinda cringey too. But WTF should I expect, fuckin' stuff was written for 12 year old boys.
