Like I said in the David Lynch and Jim Shooter ones, my mother was alive, but she was on the wane, and I was depressed.
Too depressed to keep up on these deaths. I'm recovered enough now
Jim Shooter on his blog told a story about how when Superman '78 came out, he bought tickets for all the Marvel artists and writers to go see it.
He forgot to invite Stan Lee.
Stan was such an idol to him, he didn't know how to approach it, so his mind just blocked it out.
He heard Stan was hurt, and he felt like an asshole.
Jesus, I'm always making fuckups like that. I can relate, Jim!
So!! That links Jim Shooter to Gene Hackman, and Marvel to DC.
