"Garth Marenghi's Darkplace" revisited!

Wow, can't believe this is already 21 years old!

Anyway!!

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace (2004)

In 2011 I had only this to say about it....

The only live-action show Cartoon Network has had on thus far that hasn't made me want to stab someone in the fucking eyes.

Really fucking hilarious, especially if you're old enough to remember 80's horror.

The cheesey C string stuff, anyway.

So!! I just listened to a long-ass podcast on the universe of H.P. Lovecraft, and the name Ramsey Campbell came up a bunch. Lovecraft scholars consider him Lovecraft's true heir. 

So I Googled Campbell to see what he looks like. Nowadays, he looks like everyone's grandpa, but holy crap, in the 1980's, he looked exactly like Garth Merenghi. 

Garth totally has to be based on Ramsey Campbell. 

I love stumbling ass-backwards into stuff like this. 🤨🔍

So, add that to the Lovecraftian rebuttal/deconstruction/parody pile. 😎👍
