Too depressed to keep up on these deaths. I'm recovered enough now.
Stan Lee used to be hands on writer and editor of Marvel, but by the time I was born, he had already been promoted to company mascot, and then later, Jim Shooter was "the Stan Lee" of my childhood to tweenage years.
He was "my" Marvel guy.
So, here's all he had influence over and connection to.
He doesn't get enough credit.
He was an acerbic character to put it mildly, and that put a lot of people off.
His tenure speaks for itself. I consider it the golden age of the Marvel company.
Today's kiddies would consider it the MCU age in dollar figures, but the books were way better in the Shooter age; and without those books, you don't get the movies.
