Twisted Christmas! (Part 3)!!

Previously-

A couple more for the "I'm sick of Charlie Brown and Rudolph", list.

Iron Man 3 (2013)

Old review here.

Yep, there's snow, and Tony plays "jingle bells", on a vinyl record player.
It's a Christmas movie.

Marvel had its answer to "Batman Returns", all along, and I just didn't mentally register it.

Prometheus (2012)

Old review here.

This is why I'm even updating this.
It was on IFC tonight, and I just realized, Idris Elba puts up a Christmas tree, and plays a snippet of "joy to the world", on his accordion.

Prometheus is a Christmas movie!

A twisted Christmas movie!
It fits right in with Gremlins.

Yeah, it's an early jump on next Christmas, but I needed to get right on it before I forgot.

Ranking the DCEU so far (2019)

Previously-

Ranking the DCEU so far (2017)

Updated edition!
Cuz like I said last time..

I want those handy, because I definitely want to re-do DC after I see Shazam.

Well, seen Shazam, so here we go...

1. Wonder Woman

Still at #1.
We'll see if WW84 tops it, or is just behind it.

2. Shazam

Yep, it's that good!

3. Aquaman

Behind Shazam by > < this much.

4. Man Of Steel

Behind Aquaman by this > < much.
Both are epic and swing for the fences, but Aquaman is a bit more fun.
All the stand-alones are the best so far, followed by the team-ups.

5. Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice

Best of the team-ups so far, but even this one hasn't smashed it out of the ballpark the way the Avengers movies have.

6. Justice League

Yeah, I used to have this way higher.
It makes me happy to see the characters together finally, but BvS is the better made film.
And again, the stand-alones top the charts.
I still love it though.
Especially in a MoS, BVS, JL trilogy marathon.

7. Suicide Squad

Still the least good, but I'm still excited for "Birds Of Prey", and "Suicide Squad 2", both with Harley Quinn.
And SS2 has James fucking Gunn!! =(:-D

Coming up next, Joker, Wonder Woman 1984, Birds Of Prey, Suicide Squad 2, and maybe Matt Reeves's Batman.
They still haven't re-casted (or revealed the re-casting of) fuckin' Batman.

We're 7 movies in now, Marvel was at...Iron Man 3 at this point.
Marvel started having non-stop hits at movie #9, which was Winter Soldier.
So, WW84 has to be their Winter Soldier.
I think Patty Jenkins is up to it.

Big 2019 Movies Part 3.

And we're back to the DCEU with....

Shazam (2019)

Previously on the DCEU....

Loved it.
The most fun DC movie yet.
And that includes pre-DCEU moves too!

Rundown.
  • The DCEU curse is broken, DC is all the way back.
  • It's as funny as you see in the trailer, and then some.
  • It has more heart than you see in the trailer.
  • The villain is fucking scarier than the trailer lets on!!
  • Seriously, the villain demonstrates his powers on some people he has old grudges with, and a woman behind me with kids softly muttered "omigawd, this is fucking horrifying!".
  • There's a big twist surprise at the end I had spoiled for me by toys, but my eyes still watered up with joy when it happened, so this movie (at least for me) is spoiler-proof.
  • Zach Levi was born to play Shazam.
  • You'll walk out with a Jack O Lantern smile plastered on your face, and you'll want to walk right back in, and see it again.
  • When I get this on Blu-Ray, I'm gonna watch it a million times.
  • Stay for mid and after credits.
  • Second best of the standalones.
  • My new ranking, Wonder Woman, Shazam, Aquaman, Man Of Steel, BvS, JL, SS.

Can't say much more without spoiling.
Go see it.
You'll be happy.

Next for DC, Joker.
If that one lives up to its trailer, I think it'll be in my top 20 movies period.

Next for these, Pet Sematary.

Disney/Fox Part 9: End Of An Old Era.

Previously-

Disney/Fox Part 8: It begins!!!

Alan Horn said at the Disney Cinema-Con presentation that New Mutants is still going to have a theatrical release, and a chart of upcoming releases shows it as keeping its August release date.

And Dark Phoenix is indeed the end of the Bryan-Singer-verse, but no fucking duh.

Horn also said Deadpool movies will continue on.
Again, no fucking duh, but good to have it confirmed at the tippy-top.

I'm most happy to hear about New Mutants.
Sigh of relief there.
I loved the trailer last year, it was supposed to come out with Deadpool last year, and it would have pissed me off if they dumped it straight to streaming.

Well, I said it last time..

It's looking more and more likely New Mutants will come straight to streaming instead of theaters.
That sucks.
I was really looking forward to that.

Anyway, we were supposed to get Deadpool 2, New Mutants, and Dark Phoenix all in one glorious decadent binge.
But, 2018 ended up being a full year, so I've no regrets there.

So, we've got these last two flicks to look forward to as comic-movie fans before the reboot.

And it looks like the reboot is quite a ways off.
2020 is going to be Black Widow, Eternals, and Dr Strange 2.
2021 is going to be Shang-Chi, Guardians Of The Galaxy 3, and probably Black Panther 2 or Captain Marvel 2.

Earliest they can start working in X-Men & Fantastic Four is 2022.

IMHO, X-Men should have an introduction movie, then a whole Avengers 2-parter like Infinity/Endgame, so it needs its own whole year, so I'd go with 2023.

Doesn't mean they can't sprinkle individual characters in before that like they did with Spider-Man in Civil War.

So....that's all that, I guess.
For now.
See you next time.

Revisits #34.

In "Big 2019 Movies Part 2", I said...

Fuck the trolls, they need to die. I hope this makes a billion.

It crossed a billion, bitches!!!!

Fuck the red-pill-ers, fuck the incels, fuck the Rotten Tomatoes trolls, fuck the IMDB trolls, fuck every Youtuber with a scowl, or a growl, or a "pee yoo", expression on their stupid privileged fat white boy faces in their shitty thumbnails, fuck alla yah.

Black Panther made a billion, Captain Marvel made a billion, Shang-Chi will probably make a billion, and Eternals (with at least one LGBT character) will probably do it too.

The world of intolerance, fear, and boring homogeneity you want to inflict on everyone is a stinking garbage dump, and no one wants it.
You're failures.
Kill yourselves.

Ahhh, there!

Happy 20th anniversary of Krazyfool's Den Of Delusion!!!

  • 2013 (saga of the site)
  • 2014 (saga of Krazyfool Show)
  • 2015 (TFA was coming soon)
  • 2016 (Rogue One was being whispered)
  • 2017 (Rogue One was out)
  • 2018 (TLJ was out)

Here's the big retrospective tour I promised last year...

The Blog In Review: Krazyfool.

And as I said last year, I talk about Star Wars in these, because TPM was coming out, and then out when Krazyfool's started, so the franchise is forever tied in with the milestones of my internet life in my mind.

Well, the 20th anniversary of TPM is coming up next month, so I'll put a spot to link it to right here...

The Phantom Menace 20th Anniversary.

It'll retro-link that there when the time comes.

Also, Solo came out, and Episode 9 gets a name and trailer in a just a couple weeks and comes out in December.
Y'know what?
I'll retro-link those too.

Episode 9 is The Rise Of Skywalker!!!!!
The Rise Of Skywalker review!!!!!

See you then!
