Gorge-athon (Part 2)

D'oh! Knew there was a food post I forgot....

Hungry Man (1973-present)

See here.

Update!! I cracked the problem!
If you have a microwave with a turntable, just go ahead, and add the two cooking times together, and cook it for 7-8 minutes non-stop, and the brownie comes out like it's supposed to.

Eh, fuck it, throw caution to the wind, and try it without the turntable if you want.

Okay...how about songs about food and/or eating?

There we go.

Tomorrow, I'll squeeze some recipes in....

The elephant in the room.

So, the news is 3 days old now.

Disney has bought Lucasfilm for 4 billion dollars (and some change) and, we're getting the sequel trilogy starting in 2015.

Lucas won't be involved, except in an advisory capacity, like with Clone Wars, so, (theoretically) it won't be ruined this time.

Dammit, George, you did it again.

I was out.
I was out, and you pulled me right back in.

So, naturally wanting a return on that investment, Disney wants to churn these babies out every 2 years, instead of every 3, so that means, 2015, 2017, and 2019....which lands on the 20th anniversary of "The Phantom Menace".

That's...going to be an interesting milestone.

Also, they're going to bust out of the holy decree of 3 trilogies, and go full-on James Bond/Star Trek with it, and make them forever.

Well....I dunno, I had packed my 'Wars fandom away in a deep cold dusty corner of the attic of my mind, it's hard to whip out the rickety ladder, and crawl up in there, and dig it all back out again.

But....I've got 3 years to muster it all up, I guess.

Gorge-a-thon (Part 1)

Nerds (1983-present)

The candy-

Fuckin' delicious.
...if you're a sour-hound.

I no longer can be, cuz of the whole gout/stones deal.
My favorite thing (sour) has become my Kryptonite.

Which, given my kink for acid, is pretty much Shakespearean irony.

And oh yeah, neat little boxes.

The history-

Okay, I shit you not, when Dairy Queen invented the Blizzard, one of their limited-time-only experimental flavors was a Nerds Blizzard.

Vile.

Yes, I tried it.

Ate it all the way down to that last little swish of melted ice cream at the bottom of the cup, and the sour had separated it into a vomit-y looking fluid...I'm amazed I didn't ralph.
I was quite the puker back in those days.

They...never ever brought that back.

There had to have been people who came back to the drive through window, exclaiming "that was fucking horrifying!!".

So, yeah, Nerds...don't go with anything...there's no recipe I can imagine them in that wouldn't be puke-naceous.

On their own, wonderful.

Whatever they go with, has yet to be invented.

Blizzard (1985-present)

The food-

Everything they've put in them has worked.
...except...Nerds.

Their one failure...they won't even speak of it now.

My favorite these days is the Strawberry Cheesecake one.
If they made a blueberry cheesecake, I would fucking inhale that.

The history-

25 years old two years ago.
I should have celebrated that.
Dammit.

Well, prior generations can brag they were there for the invention of cars, and/or television,...I was there for video games, and Blizzards.

Ayuh.

Good enough for today.
After killing myself on Halloween, I'm taking this light and breezy.

Pre-Thanksgiving two, Electric Boogaloo.

Eh, I'm pretty damned movie reviewed out, frankly.
Ditto games & comics.

Not gonna do those anymore until Halloween rolls back around, or, I get something new, and special.

So, for this month?
Food.

Did a trial run with....

Underwood Deviled Ham

Right here.

And, the "product/history", format applied just fine.

So, for the lead up to Gluttony Day, I'll do a product a day, maybe throw in some of my own jury-rigged heart-clogging bachelor chow recipes.

So, for this starter entry, I'll recap my other food entries....

Fruity Pebbles Treats

Here.

Coke Freestyle Machines

Here.

3 Musketeers

Here.

Lindor Truffles

Happy Halloween!!!! Again!!!!

Ahhh, lovely, that time of year again...
That was quick.

So, welcome back to this spot on the Earth's revolution.
One of my favorite cosmic hangout spots.
Thanks for joining me.

It's Halloween again, and the first anniversary of last year's shindig.

That pic?
"Monsters Who's Who".
I own that book. Handed down to me from my uncles.
A treasured childhood possession indeed.

It had all the classic monsters, monsters of ancient myth, some other movie monsters, dinosaurs, some comic book villains, and some Marvel superheroes that were the counter to those villains.

So....it's kinda like my En-Mike-lopedia.
(And, throwing in that link absorbs that in. Full circle)

Anyhoo, this thing was up to date to about...1970...roundabouts.

Latest bad-guy it had was HAL from "2001: A Space Odyssey".

So, this year, I've redone and updated that sucker, haven't I?

Just gotta slap the cover on it, ope, just did. ;-)

Anyway, here's the compilation to make that easy to flip through....

Any one of those would make a great Halloween post, but dammit, I'm giving you the whole thing!
S'how nice I am!
:o)

What else did we have last year?
Oh, right, a song marathon.

We had 13 last time, see if we can hit that this year...

Ah, yes, cracked 21 that time, much better!

So, that's more than enough goodies for ya.
You'll likely have no appetite for supper.
Well, don't tattle on me.

So, as I said last time...

Merry Deathmas!
And a happy new candy! :-D

Next year, Masters Of Horror!
