Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness (2022)

Finally, the other half of the crossover duology with "Spider-Man: No Way Home".

Previously on MCU....

Previously with Fox-verse...

Non-spoiler review-

If you're an Evil Dead fan, you'll dig it.
It's practically Evil Dead 3.5.

Is it "the greatest Marvel movie ever"?
Oh, Hell no.
Cool down on the hype.

As for ranking it...it's definitely better than Dr. Strange 1.
Against recent ones,....better than Eternals, better than Black Widow, not as good as Shang-Chi or No Way Home.
Although, I can't wait to get it on Blu-ray so I can see how it plays as a duology with No Way Home.

The leaker who said it's mostly a Dr. Strange movie and not a backdoor Avengers movie was right.
If you're going JUST for cameos, you're gonna be a little let down.
That's not a spoiler, the ads are telling you it's all about Dr. Strange, believe it.

Do you have to have seen "Wandavision" to enjoy it?
Nope, they fill you in pretty well.
Will your enjoyment be enhanced? Sure.
Feige saying you HAVE to see the shows to enjoy the new movies was salesman crap.

So, yeah, dug it a lot, but didn't love it.
I repeat, "No Way Home" was better.

Would I recommend this for a theater trip?
Hell, yeah.
Especially if you saw "No Way Home" and have been waiting for this.
Just lower your expectations a little bit.

Okay!
Now on to those cameos!!

Yes.

Captain Carter.
Charles Xavier (in the yellow chair from the cartoon with the 90's animated theme)
Captain Marvel/Photon
Black Bolt
Reed Richards (new variant, not from any prior movies)
Wanda's kids.
Bruce Campbell

Nope.

Loki
Sylvie
Tobey-Spidey
Deadpool
Tom Cruise in any capacity
Nick Cage Ghost Rider
Wolverine
Phoenix
Magik
Quicksilver
Human Torch
Shang-Chi

Total surprises.

Mustafar (Vader's lava planet) for a split second
Spider-Man Noir's world for a split second

So!! The Following things are canon now!

Nope, none of that.
They don't even dangle hints to any of that.
The cameos are really quick.
Again, this is all Dr. Strange's movie.

So, yeah, that's that.
Glad I saw it, don't need repeat viewings, I can calmly wait for disk.

Next, I gotta go catch up on "Moon Knight".
