Isolation marathon (Part 6.5).

Yeah, this one took multiple months, and I never even got to the category for part 7.
I still want to do part 7, so that's why this is 6.5.
Just didn't wanna re-shuffle the numbers.
The delay was Clovis stuff, and family stuff, and not-dying-from-covid stuff.
It's rough for everyone.
Even hermits like me.

SW Sequel Trilogy (2015-2019)

Back-to-back-to back so I can see all the teeny little ways they hook together, and all the little arcs. Gorgeous.
It has its flaws, but so does the classic trilogy.
Fanboys that elevate the originals to a religion need to snap out of it, and get over themselves.
I enjoy the hell out of this trilogy.
Especially in a binge.
It would be a helluva lot clunkier without Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver, but they elevate it.
Worthy entry to the saga.
Haters can kiss my balls.

Black Panther (2018)

Chadwick Boseman died, so of course I had to fire it up.
Review is in the link.

Batwoman/Crisis On Infinite Earths (2019)

Vastly improved by bingeing.
You can keep track of the plotline much better without having the fucking week long interruptions.
I've said it elsewhere, but not here, Ruby Rose is okay, but Rachel Skarsten who plays Alice (Batwoman's Joker) steals the whole damned show.
If you're a Ruby Rose hater, fine, then watch the show for Alice.
If you still can't enjoy the show, then you just might be a fucking CHUD.
Maybe.
Could be.

And Crisis is still goddamned wonderful.
Of course.

The Flash (1990)

After Crisis, I had to go back and check out Flash again.
Definitely the bridge between Batman '89, and Batman The Animated Series.
Set design has that same art-deco look, Shirley Walker does the composing.
It's Batman '89 the show with super-speed.

Creepshow The Series (2019)

Well, I already said how Clovis reacted to it.
It's....a mixed bag.
Some are really good, like Stephen Kings "Grey Matter".
Some are RL Stine's Goosbumps level silly.
Very uneven.
Don't look for it to recapture the magic of the first movie.

Orphan Black (2013-2017)

Watched the pilot after Tatiana Maslany was cast as She-Hulk, just to get a look at her acting, and I got hooked, and got sucked into a whole series binge.
Wonderful.
She's fucking incredible.
This is one of the top 10 greatest shows.
I...I think I might like it better than Jessica Jones!!

A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood
(2019)

"Won't You Be My Neighbor?", was better.
I mean, this one'll warm your heart of you take the movie as gospel reality, but if you made the mistake I did, and investigate the real guy who wrote the article, and read the article....ugh.
Bubble burst.
Everything that has the best emotional gut-punches in the flick didn't happen.
Too much fakery.
Stick with WYBMN.

Only Lovers Left Alive (2013)

Loki and The Ancient One are a sexy vampire couple.
All that needs to be said.
Watch it.

Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)

Even better than the second one, if you can believe it!
Both of the Dwayne Johnson Jumanjis are cute little movies.
Check 'em out.

Fantasy Island (2020)

...meh.
Okay for one viewing, but I'd never watch it again.
In the VHS days, this would be a two-for-one-night rental.
You get the big blockbuster, and then whatever's left you can grab, and cross your fingers it's good.
This was "meh".

Charlie's Angels (2019)

Not as good as the Drew Barrymore ones, and goes on a bit too long, but I found it an enjoyable enough watch.
Better than Fantasy Island.
By a little bit.
Enough to not suck.

Bloodshot (2020)

The last theater movie of 2020 just as corona hit!!
...glad I didn't risk it.
It's not so great.
I mean, it's up to snuff with old 00's pre-MCU superhero movies, and cuz it's Vin Diesel, they can't resist sprinkling some "Fast & Furious", level goofiness in there.
But it's all right.
Put it it this way.
Better than the Hellboy remake, not as good as Venom.
Somewhere between those two.

King Of Kong: A Fistful Of Quarters (2007)

From here...

Oh, I finally just saw "King Of Kong: A Fistful Of Quarters".
Spectrum finally had it in their free menu.
I dug it.
It's like a Christopher Guest movie for real.
It's Tiger King before Tiger King.

Oh, yeah, Billy cheated.
That tape was fake.
I think the refs figured it out, and felt like shit because they couldn't take their ruling back.

I think a lot of other people think so too, because Pete Dinklage in "Pixels", is clearly a middle finger to Billy.

There, that's all the movies/shows that trickled in since...damn, June.

Next up for these, the duologies category I was supposed to do.

RIP Eddie Van Halen. Will play the three best Van Halen songs ("Girl Gone Bad," "Runnin' With The Devil," "D. O. A.") in tribute and check to see what other major metal musicians said about his death.

On the downside, it's gotta be said that the band's two best sellers ("Van Halen," 1978 and "1984," 1984) kinda tower over the rest of their catalogue, which I have heard in its entirety. But their reunion album ("A Different Kind Of Truth," 2012) was good!!

It's also sort of hard to not see EVH's death as the final blow in a long, long, painful series of publicity disasters and bad events that have been chipping away at VH's legacy since the 1996 David Lee Roth-reunion publicity disaster. Hell his wife walked out on him.

RIP anyway, I guess the cancer diagnosis was awhile ago.

Nothing I can add there.
You said it all.

BD- Hey, didn't you once link me to a thing about Sonichu?
I think I hand-waved it away not understanding what I was looking at.
I just saw a video on it last night, and I didn't go down the rabbit hole enough to know that it was written by a mentally ill person who came out as trans, and that the storyline collapses into porn, and fighting Nazis, and was an internet sensation.

Of course, the internet being the internet, the sensation is about picking on the author, and I'm not into that.

I've probably notified you of "Chris-chan" on one or more occasions in the past, God knows what year I would have done so, I'm guessing I found out about him around...2007 or so? I remember making fun of him with co-workers who knew about him at a job I worked between 2009 and 2014 so there's that. Probably somewhere in there.

But really it was just to make fun of the guy like everyone else would have done around then. I found about him on Music Babble and then read his train wreck of an Encyclopedia Dramatica article where they called him "God's little mistake," then after that probably watched the dumb video where he screams "My name is NOT!!! IAN!!! BRANDON!!! SOMETHING!!!" and then his dad or whoever the hell else he lived with screams at him to shut up.

I dunno, it was hard not to laugh at that but the guy is probably the biggest autism-spectrum epitome who ever lived (basement dweller, socially awkward as hell, obsessed with games and comics, etc.) so nowadays I'd be more cautious about such a thing.

He'd be the kind of thing I hadn't remembered to keep up with, though. I mean, I show people that "Of Mice And Men" 300 page online Chip & Dale "adult" fan fiction graphic novel thing that we all laughed at and they don't think it's funny anymore (it's also seemingly hard to find nowadays.)

In some ways I think we should probably blame Dave Sim.

I kinda wish I owned a physical copy of that "Of Mice And Men", comic, that was really something.
The dude must still have the files somewhere, he should put it on Amazon.
Amazon prints your shit, that's what my Harry books are.

You can get Sonichu in physical format.
The podcaster I saw Sonichu on has the first issue, and held it up, and said "look at this! This is a thing! I have it in my hand! If you have a work of art you haven't finished, get off your ass, and do it! If Christine can finish her magnum opus, you have no excuses!!".

There it is.

...As wubb said, "I definitely got the impression while reading it that he had spanked it to Gadget." Unfortunately there have been even sicker things done involving Gadget--I haven't viewed those things myself but I know there was a meme of an image of Gadget frowning with a "cancel" sign over her face, regarding porno images of Gadget. So there must have been a lot of it. YUCK.

The guy's name is Chris Fischer. Googling his name turns up that he has been entered into...a....a......."furry wiki." EWEEEWWWGGGHHHHHH. I'd rather be on the national sex offender list!!!

Speaking of which, almost nobody saw John Turturro's Jesus Quintana (Big Lebowski) spinoff movie. I may not even bother to see it myself. It was called "The Jesus Rolls."

Arrggh!! I forgot how cringe the romance scenes were/are.
Worse than "Attack Of The Clones".

I take back wanting a physical copy.
Even though you and I know owning it would be for irony, if I died, and my relatives found it, they'd think I was a furry.
Nope, nertz to that.

Yeah, I was dimly aware of the Jesus spinoff, and no one I know recommended it.
Usually, someone somewhere watches a thing, and you find out how it is through them.
Nobody.
Cricket chirps.
