Superheroes 2.4 Superman/Batman (addendum).

Justice League:
The Flashpoint Paradox (2013)

So, picking up from here, and fitting between here and here on the Superman end, and here and here on the Batman end...

Holy SHIT is this one dark!
Darker than fucking Dark Knight Returns!
They even SAY "shit", so "holy shit!", is apt.

Holy shit, Batman!

So, plot is, Flash runs fast enough to travel time, and undoes something that ripples out, and ruins everything, and now he's got to fix it.

In this new timeline, Batman is Thomas Wayne, and is lethal, Bruce Wayne is dead, Martha Wayne was the Joker, Hal Jordan never became Green Lantern, Barry Allen never became Flash, baby-Superman's ship destroyed Metropolis, and government spooks have him in an underground lab being experimented on, the only proper superhero is Cyborg, and he's a government lackey, and the world is being destroyed by a war between Wonder Woman and Aquaman.

Cussing, murder everywhere, copious amounts of blood, beloved characters drop like flies, gosh, the kids'll love it!

Yeah...I recommend it for 10-12 and up, depending on the kid.

It's got the same problem as "Man Of Steel", the good guys do win, and light is restored, but the movie spent so long beating up on you, it's kinda hard to get that joyous "da da daa!", uplift.

But, sickie that I am, I dug it.

Would I recommend it?
Yeah, sure, and probably even a little bit more than MOS.
Check it out.

Up next for DC animated, for 2014, Justice League: War, Son of Batman, and Batman: Assault on Arkham.

Justice League: War, will be the followup to Flashpoint Paradox, and be the origin of the New 52 Justice League.
Yeah, I can hear the fanboy groans....

Son of Batman, will introduce Damian Wayne, Bruce's long lost son with Talia Al Ghul, and the fourth Robin.
So, this will be all the Robins in films.

Aaand...

Batman: Assault on Arkham, will be set in the Batman: Arkham video game universe.
Wonder if Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill will be back for that one....

So, there, that's all done until 2014.

2015, we'll see the real shit when Superman/Batman team up in live-action.
Stay tuned.

Got this last week. You're not kidding---HOLY SHIT is this thing dark. When I got it, I was, like, yeah, sure it's PG-13...how strong is it gonna be? Well, I found out. Do NOT get on Wonder Woman's shit list in that universe; I love how she, er, dealt with Captain Thunder. But I couldn't believe they went there. I must say, though, I enjoyed this one more than the typical DC animated stuff.
