So, clearly summer is obsolete, because there's so many geek movies coming, they're year round now, and doing "summer, winter, summer, winter..", is just going to be a pain to manage.
Time to upgrade to just doing the whole damned year.
I'll still do recap lists in summer and winter, with a year end one to moosh them together.
Taken pretty much from Christmas, and all my commentary is there if you want it.
Here we go...
Deadpool
February 12th
Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice
March 25th
Captain America: Civil War
May 6th
X-Men: Apocalypse
May 27th
Ghostbusters
July 16th
Star Trek Beyond
July 22nd
Shatner confirmed as not being in it.
But, that'll still be my placeholder until the real poster.
Suicide Squad
August 5th
Gambit
October 7th
Doctor Strange
November 4th
Star Wars: Rogue One
December 16th
We're up to ten flicks a year now.
Sheesh.
Who'd ever imagine?
Well, I used to go to the theater more in the 80's, now we're just full circle.
Let the journey begin!
...or resume.

I'm pretty sure you weren't planning on seeing "Hateful Eight" but in case you want to know what it is, it's 90 minutes of rather boring talky setup (almost as bad as "Death Proof"), followed by a remake of "Reservoir Dogs" set inside a cabin (and with a similar piffly ending as RD.) The remake of RD is fairly watchable, the setup of the movie mostly bordered on putting me to sleep.
It's at least not a horribly pretentious movie though--his longest and slowest film, but not really him rubbing it in your face as much as he did with "Inglorious Basterds" and "Django Unchained." It's not full of cutesy injokes or pop culture references and only one obvious "Tarantino universe" reference" (Red Apple cigarettes pop up.)
Uh, if you cared, that is, which you probably didn't. Just a heads up then.
Oh, also, today is Roy Batty's birthday according to his file in Blade Runner...

Happy Roy Batty day! (it won't be celebrated with fake newspaper covers like BTTF2 day was)
Yeah, I'm not a fan of Tarantino.
I'm a rare mutant breed, everyone else on the planet seems to have fallen for him hook line and sinker.
I like "True Romance", and "Natural Born killers", although the latter hasn't aged well.
I like "Reservoir Dogs", and the non-Travolta bits of "Pulp Fiction".
From there on, his filmography turns into a "Last Action Hero", level parody of itself, and I just can't get into it.
Re: Roy Batty. Probably won't be a Jimmy Kimmel skit either.
Updates.
