Loved it.
I'm still processing it, but...I think I rank it easily better than "Solo"; as good or even better than "Return of the Jedi".
Not up in the top tier with "Empire Strikes Back" or "Rogue One".
Quite possibly better than "Rise of Skywalker".
It doesn't suffer at all from the pacing issues and missing story chunks as "Rise".
Not top tier, but definitely upper-middle tier.
If you count it as a squooshed season of Mando, it's the best season of Mando.
Well...maybe a close tie with season 2.
If you count it as the third "A Star Wars Story" movie, which I do, they easily rank "Rogue" "Mando" "Solo".
I'll drop one spoiler.
No Jedi, no sabers.
I think it's an opposite of a spoiler, because you might ruin the movie for yourself going "where's Luke!?!?! Where's Ahsoka!?!?"
Nope, simmer down; this is all Mando and Grogu's movie.
We don't get any classic or prequel characters, they're all new.
But!! We get deep lore callbacks from novels, toys, games, etc.
If you recognize them, you'll be laughing with joy.
I wanna spoil them, but I won't.
A major plot character was introduced in the animated "Clone Wars" movie, and now I regret not collecting it.
I might grab it now when I get this one on disk.
So, yeah, if you like Mando the show, go see it.
If you're a Warsie completist, go see it.
If you're a gen-xer fan who needs a nostalgia injection to lift their spirits, go see it.
If you're a right-wing CHUD with a Disney hate-boner, stay the fuck home; this isn't going to cure you.
So...yeah! That's it!
Next one of these, Star Wars: Starfighter.
