Snarky political comment of the day.

Questions, for you town-hall/tea-party lot.

Can a politician ever be a patriot?

See, cuz, if they never can, then it can never be a patriotic act to vote for any of them, can it?

And with that being true, then how can it ever be patriotic to exercise your right to vote?

Becomes pretty fucking meaningless.

And if democracy isn't the basis of your patriotism, then what the fuck is?

Flag waving and fireworks?
What's the point, if it symbolizes things that are meaningless to you?

And if this flag waving and fireworks shit symbolizes nothing, if it's just a meaningless bunch of rituals, then how the hell can they get you all worked up over anything, especially for a fucking war?

What's a war about with no ideals?
Aren't you essentially just signing up for the mindless base core idea of killing people?

Is this the basis of your patriotism?
Then I want no part of it, and fuck patriotism.

Or, maybe the fighting is in the name of something after all.
But what, if not democracy?

Capitalistic money chasing?

Well, yeah, you can have that without democracy I guess.
China has free markets after all.

But then, why all the kicking and thrashing against "socialism"?
Ain't the Chinese system what you want?

And why all the bawling and screaming, and broad-brush hating of Washington?
Don't ya like anyone there?
Are none of them patriots?
If they are, and you're a patriot, why don't you get along?

It makes no sense to me.

It all seems to contradict itself.

Maybe if it were explained by a calm rational person, y'know, without a red face, and female-pitched screams, even though the person is a burly 40-something dude.

Think you could get me one of those?

You go look, I'll wait.
