*Long exhale*
It's over.
Trumpism is over.
I mean, we've got 3 more months of the sonovabitch, and lord knows what horrible things he has up his sleeves, but in the bigger picture, he's gonna be gone.
And now, here's the victory song that was supposed to play for Hillary in 2016.
Elle King was on Stephen Colbert the night Trump was elected.
Everyone was expecting to be celebrating the first female president.
We got fucking Trump.
Poor Elle had to play anyway.
It was morbid.
So, I remembered that trauma (cuz that's what trauma is!), and I chose her Ghostbusters song, cuz...welll...you know...
And hooray for our first black female vice-president!!
Talk about delayed gratification!!
Plus! Here's the song to thank Philadelphians for winning this thing.
Finally some light at the end of this fucking tunnel.
And I'm gonna be SO much meaner to CHUDs now.
You thought I was brutal before?
Ohhh-ho-ho-ho!!
😈

Thank God that's over.
The morning I found out Trump was elected back in 2016 I had a hideous feeling in my gut and soul all fucking day and it was the worst I'd felt in years, by far. I tried watching "Borat" and eating pizza and walking around listening to "The Who Sell Out" to clear my head that day and I just couldn't.
If that had happened a second time I don't know how I'd feel. Probably even worse.
I had Popeye's spicy chicken tenders with ketchup, mashed potatoes with cajuny gravey and a raspberry cheesecake pie. And a big guzzle of Dr. Pepper + Cream Soda. It was really good.
Trump should be over but I'm afraid we've got a lot of lasting effects from Trumpism.
However GEORGIA of all states voted blue. Holy dog shit!!!
Sorry for the lateness, my sleep cycle has been all fucked up from watching the returns last week.
That, and my brain chemistry is still fucked up from the emotional roller-coaster.
I think the whole country went through the same beating with me.
My story of gloom is about the same.
The infuriating thing was how invincible he seemed.
I thought he'd get weeded out in the primary, and he got through the fucking primary.
I thought Hillary would mop the floor with him, and he won.
I thought he'd be thrown out of office, and the Repugs all protected him from impeachment, because they hate losing more than they give a shit about burning the country down.
I thought the Portland attacks and covid-19 would make it a blue tsunami, but it was a fucking nail-biter.
And now the bastard wants to run again in 2024.
Please, let him get arrested or die.
Why won't the cheeseburgers just kill him already?
And this fucking QAnon shit won't go away. 100,000+ new COVID cases in a day and he's telling people to just not pay attention to the media.
If Biden gets one thing done in his tenure in office I hope to God it's to get RID of the damn Electoral College.
I probably kept sane during the election by just not watching it. And the post office didn't get shut down.
Yeah, I had the same feeling as 9/11; I didn't want to watch, but if I didn't, I'd miss something.
Remember, it wasn't just the buildings, there was the anthrax mailer.
Everyone forgets about that.
We didn't know what was coming next.
It was like "fuck, I hate the stress of watching this shit...but I have to know if I have to boil my mail tomorrow".
Well, tying 9/11 back to 2020, we got Giuliani doing his failure press conference between the crematorium and the porno/dildo shop.
That was gold.
Everyone also forgot "John Doe #2." You were there for the 90s--remember who I'm talking about? The guy everyone was looking for after the Oklahoma City bombing for like a month and then it was just some nobody? Remember everyone being scared of Ryder trucks because McVeigh used a Ryder truck? That's some forgotten 90s lore right there!
But, y'know, I ask teenagers today if they've even HEARD of the OKC bombing, and...they usually haven't. They also haven't heard of Ruby Ridge, Waco, the Unabomber, Slobodan Milosevic, TWA Flight 800 or Monica Lewinsky. Some of them have heard of OJ Simpson and Columbine, but some haven't.
I can't blame them--I didn't know about some of the biggest 80s events (Bhopal, Grenada, Beirut, Falklands) until I was well into college! Hell, I didn't know about the Hyatt Hotel walkway collapse that happened in KANSAS CITY in 1981 until maybe 2013! 114 people dead because of an engineering failure!
