I finally saw "Sleepaway Camp." Cripes, between the curling iron death, the super sick over melodramatic music, the painted on mustache on that one cop guy, the creepy pervert cook leering at the kids, the five minutes spent on making that guy scream when he gets boiled, the hilariously bad dialogue, the dumb supervisor guy's weird reaction to finding that girl dead....all that stuff was weirder to me than the ending, which came across like what would happen if you tried to do the pig-slaughtering noises from "The Exorcist" on a sound-studio budget of about $3. Pfffffffft!
I'm glad I watched it, though. It doesn't come across like a movie made by Martians or autistic people, though, it comes across like a slasher film made by a guy with no sense of artistic tone whatsoever who is also exorcising a bunch of weird personal demons? That's what one review said, I'm going with that.
