Lookit this.
Video gaming becoming a morbid dystopia.
Now, who could've predicted something like that?
It's as if the writers checked out my blog. :P
Course, it might be a sucky movie, and it looks like a ripoff on "The Running Man", but still, interesting I'm not the only one on the planet that caught that vibe from our culture.
Shit, maybe I've made a difference.
Maybe change can happen.
Maybe life is worth living.
Maybe. Who the fuck knows?
We'll see how Rotten Tomatoes weighs in on this thing.
....stuff like this is exactly the sort of thing I was saying should be done in this rant.
It's the only sane way to react to this consumer culture.
More!! More!!
Well, looking back on this rambling little series of rants, I think I really had it all worked out with part 3.
Read that one again, that's the good one. ;)
But y'know me, anal retentive, gotta make sure I really hammer the shit home.
Well, pretty damned sure I did.
Plus, I dunno, I was searching for a little something extra.
Well, some of it was good.
At least I enjoyed writing it.
Liked recapping and updating the slogan rants, even though no one else seemed to give a shit.
And I thought the "fighting back", thing was funny and possibly helpful.
But, what the fuck do I know?
Anyway, sorry for the slow build, but like I said, I was was searching for something.
But, I really had it all nailed with 3.
Fuck this fake fucking world, it all needs to be laughed into oblivion.
Not randomly, and chaotically, like a fucking little anarchist.
Then society decays, and you end up like the Heath Ledger Joker, and then the barbarian morons end up running the show.
Go after the assholes.
The ones that want to put a boot on your neck in the name of their ego.
The ones that hate to laugh.
That need to suppress everything in order to control it, in order to fill the emptiness in themselves.
Or, maybe all this ranting to you folks is futile.
Maybe only freaks like me can do this special work.
Maybe everyone else is trapped in a situation where they have to play nice, or get fired.
These fucking people, who think they own your time, that think they own your minds, that think they own your votes, fuck 'em.
Fuck 'em.
Fuck their moving, their breathing, their very fucking blinking patterns.
Fuck 'em.
They're a joke, their world is a joke, it's hilarious, parody it, mock it, laugh your ass off at it, laugh every day of your limited life on this asshole planet, and fucking enjoy every moment of it in defiance of these human tumors.
Fuck 'em.
If I haven't beaten home in excruciating detail with logical deconstruction, how fucked up this society has gotten thanks to greed, ignorance, fear, and superstition, I really haven't done my job.
And I consider this my job, I don't give a fuck what society says.
*Shrug*
I'm a comedian, I claim the title, I didn't choose it, it chose me.
Like I said way back here, it's a noble tradition, and I'm happy to carry it on.
You never regret a damned thing doing this work, at least I don't.
Let's see a fucking banker, or a paper shuffler at an HMO say that.
I dunno, I set out to make this segment of materiel a bunch of positive philosophical affirmations, and I ended up back in the negative a bunch of times....
...but you know what? It IS positive to point out the truth, and the truth is often ugly, scary, and stupid.
But I want the big take-away from these 22 little rants to be, you don't have to take it.
This is YOUR world.
Not theirs.
There's no fucking price tag on your fucking D.N.A.
That's the upbeat message I was clumsily fumbling towards, and had vaguely planned from the first one.
Whelp, I thought then, I had to be more upbeat, and philosophical, and be about constructive positive affirmations, what with the frustration and anger I'd just left behind with the slogan series, and I guess there was some validity to that.
At the time.
I'd just gotten done with a pretty caustic barrage, I gotta admit.
But, that's done now.
After walking through the process, I see the mission ahead, and now know I gotta get back to the ranty-ranting.
Because tearing down the bad IS constructive, IS positive.
I've covered the big overarching themes, now I've got to zoom in on all the little daily injustices.
The every day stupidity.
There's a lot of it to go through, so I'll have no shortage of material.
So, up next, pissed off rants.
Joyous, healing, affirmative, constructive, pissed off fucking rants.
Like a warming hug.
All right, in the first "let's recap", I "boiled down the positive nuggets", and said it'd be the transition into my next bit of material, which this "innerspace", series has been.
So, let's see how good a job I've done.
Well, the overall message of "let's recap", was that all the crap I ranted about previously, it's solved in the individual mind, not with brute force, and stubborn dogmatic adherence to whatever political/religious dogma one randomly chooses.
So, yeah, it's about optimism, and trying to whip up some hope, and overall encourage some rationalism.
And combine rationalism with optimism, then, like I said in part 16, it's about "taking our world back", from unreason, and lunacy.
I like to think it's doable.
So, let's look back at what I've been tirelessly building towards, and dig into that.
Well, the core idea, is changing one's outlook.
Looking at things in a new way.
I tackled some of that on a small scale in part 14.
Once you have that perspective, you can apply it on a grander scale, and make your own worlds, carve your own reality onto this miasma of a society.
And don't feel the least bit guilty, because look at the phony-reality you're unseating, it's mostly a bunch of lame bullshit.
Like I ranted in part 15 (sequel to part 1), you don't have to take what's mindlessly dumped over your head.
It's someone else's illusions, and it's been passed down from ancient dead people who clumsily fumbled all this stuff together.
You have as much right to create your world as they did.
More so, they're fucking dead.
As for the ones trapped in the illusions fed to them, well, don't fret about them, like I said in part 16, they're trapped in their own little prisons of fear, they're harmless.
Walk right on by 'em.
So, phase 1, outlook, phase 2, the practical daily life solutions from part 13.
Course, I even said in that one, the whining "patriotic", crap from parts 9 and 11 (hmm....9/11, freaky co-inky-dink) is so meaningless and dumb, to just fuck it, and avoid it.
It's more of that lizard shit.
And lizard shit has no answers, just fear, like I pointed out in the last part.
Eliminate fear, eliminate superstition, what else is left but rationalism?
And knowing all else is by definition, irrationalism, what else is there to do to it, but laugh?
Outlook, practical applications,...phase 3?
Well, that's where we REALLY take our world back.
That's where we wake up everyone, and get them to laugh.
And it starts right now, this moment, reading this blog.
Okay, got all my damned philosophy lined up, now for a GOOD rant....
Terrorism?
For one thing, an end to religion.
And the answer for an end to religion?
Skepticism, and critical thinking.
North Korea?
An end to people being sheep that let dictators take hold.
The answer to that?
Critical thinking.
Ditto every other fucking dictator, so let's skip through those.
Peak oil, global warming, super viruses, asteroid collision, the sun going red giant, and finally, decay of the universe.
Medical advances, alternative energy, spaceships, asteroid blasters, etc.
Science.
Back again to critical thinking, and rationalism.
And if the internet isn't the vehicle for spreading this anti-virus to the four corners of the world, nothing is, and let's give up.
And all the geopolitical/economic shit?
Shit, I dunno, that might just get us.
That's a swirling ball of chaos barreling down as surely as the decay of the universe.
I'll tell ya what WON'T fix it.
Irrationality.
Praying.
Lucky horseshoes.
So, it'll take having our heads screwed on to even find the solution if it's out there.
And that'll take more rationalism.
Don't pray for that shit to come, cuz while your hands are clasped, you can't pluck answers from the air, and while you're eyes are closed, you can't see to do it.
And the empirical evidence, is the world this approach has made.
That I'm even having to write these damned rants.
Now, maybe I'm wrong, and all the above is naive.
But if it is, and I am, we know a couple thing for sure.
The politics of Godzilla didn't have the answer.
No rational solution on offer whatsoever.
May as well have sent the Three Stooges.
And magic didn't come to save the day.
So, if it's not those two, and it's not what I'm offering up, either we're fucked, or there's a whole other new way of thinking someone has to go and invent.
Well, get to it, folks.
Lemme hear it.
I'm all ears.
But, to find that whole new way of thinking, will take more thinking, which will prove me right.
Or, magic, and don't hold your breath on that shit.
