Terminator franchise update (part 2)

Part 1.

Argh, Keerist, it just keeps pouring out!
What a week!

So, EW just gave the basic plot.

A Terminator goes back to try to kill Sarah Conner at 9 years old, and it kills her parents.
Another good Terminator played by Arnold goes back to save her, raise her, and try to keep the timeline of T1 and T2 on course.
This is how he ages up to old-Arnold by the timeframe of this film.
Kyle Reese from 2029 is sent back to 1984 to complete his destiny as John Connor's dad in T1, and finds the timeline drastically altered.

Click here for the details, and the two covers showing all the non-Arnold characters.
Yeah, I feel dirty pimping EW, but it's the right thing to do....

Sony-Spidey cinematic universe updates.

The not quite flop, but poor reception of "Amazing 2", has left them floundering, scrambling, and non-committal, but here's their fuzzy blurry outline.

Batman alternate cinematic universe news.

Joel Schumaker will return to his cinematic Bat-verse (see here and here) in comics.
He's going to do dark remakes of "Forever", "& Robin", and then finally show what we missed with the un-filmed "Batman Triumphant", which was going to have Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, and Jack Nicholson Joker returning in fear gas hallucinations.

These three stories will be blended as one in a 12 issue series.
The artist will be Dustin Nguyen.

Poor guy wants redemption. Hope he gets it.
I've long since forgiven him, other nerds haven't been as kind.
I say, save the really good hate for politicians.

Happy 30th anniversary, Terminator!

Damn, everything good is turning 30.
Whelp, lot happened in '84.

There Is No Jesse updates.

Ugh, it's been SUCH a thin trickle out of this one.

Here's everything from the past three fuggin' years.

See here for the original post.

Now, updates.
  • It has a director.
  • There are teasers here and here.
  • There was an Indiegogo that failed for securing music rights from Nightmare 2.
  • The artwork above is some fanart or something from his site, probably not the final poster, but I had to put something.
  • There's supposed to be a paper book on the making of Nightmare 2 and one on "Come Back To The Five and Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean", written by him, but no word on those either.
  • Also, no word on the paper version of "Jesse's Lost Journals". There's a link on his site that says it's to buy, but no button to push to buy it.

That's it, no other word.
Progress, production phase, if they've started interviewing people, nothing.
He's tenacious, I'll give him that.
He hasn't given up on the thing.
Still, lotta oddness and instability floating around...

A documentary covering the whole horror genre, from cave paintings, to woodcuttings, to novels, to movies, to shows, to video games.

Featuring interviews with George RomeroJohn Carpenter, Don Coscarelli, Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, From Beyond, Castle Freak), and many more.

Hey, worth it right there for interviews with those folks.

Slashers update.

I guess this updates both 80's slashers, and Masters Of Horror.

I left off on 80's slashers saying...

I'm sure some cool new retro-80's franchise will come along.
But, for now, we're in a holding pattern.

The following two flicks try to accomplish that, but, well.....

The Big Romero Dead Series Review (addendum- part 2).

Part 1.

So, I left off last time with....

Barring an absolute fucking miracle, that's going to have to be it.

Get ready to believe in miracles....

Nope, George is still retired, but his son is taking up the mantle, and trying to Indiegogo a prequel to "Night Of The Living Dead".

Here's his site.

Linky.

That's it, the press release yadda-yadda on the site says the rest.
Discuss amongst yourselves.

Daredevil update.

This updates "Marvel/DC TV update".

So, there's the logo, and the suit.

Of the latter....huh.
They've gone full circle back to "Trial Of The Incredible Hulk".

Never would have guessed that.
Never.
Huh.

Tch...well....

Terminator franchise update.

All old news, but doesn't hurt to scrapbook it.

Obligatory old posts.
Now, new business.
  • T5 is called "Terminator Genisys".
  • No explanation thus far for the hip misspelling.
  • Arnie is another T-800, but apparently, the meat layer can age.
  • There'll be time travel hi-jinks in the time periods of T1 & T2 like in "Back To The Future II", going back to the first movie.
  • They shot it all back in August. Now, post-production until 2015.
  • Events of this film and its two sequels create a new timeline like JJ Abrams Trek.
  • There's also (allegedly) going be be a new Terminator TV series that will weave in and out of events of this new trilogy.
