Or, TIL: Serling-verse 3.
Previously-
I do keep looping back to things...
So!! FETV has brought back the hour-long versions of Carol Burnett with the musical numbers spliced back in.
Now, I had naturally assumed they'd all be salutes to Broadway, and old-timey Hollywood, and of course there sure are a lot of those.
But just as many are surprisingly hippie-dippie-acid-trippy, and outer-spacey, and experimental, and avant-garde.
There's some weird shit in there! Yay Carol! 😎👍
Those numbers make the musical numbers in "The Star Wars Holiday Special" look normal, and for their time period, make sense.
But anyway! Couple nights ago, Rod Serling was in the audience of the show at question-and-answer time! He was plugging some book or movie he wrote.
Apparently, he and Carol stayed pals after her Zone episode.
So, there's the whole Kevin Bacon sandwich!
Carol on Zone.
Serling on Carol-Show.
Lovecraft on "Night Gallery".
Stephen King on 80's Zone, and "Gramma" being Lovecraft-linked.
"Shawshank" as Carol's favorite movie.
And now I can paste the text of this and the Carol blog into my Weird-fiction-verse log diaries.
😉👍
