Ghostbusters/IDW news at last!

I said in the "GB:Afterlife" blu-ray announcement...

So, if I'm on a genuine roll, stay tuned in April for comics news!

Well, it's a little bit earlier.
And...kinda not...well, I'll get into it....

So, Tom Waltz (Publisher/editor at IDW) posted this pic on his Twitter.
The caption reads "Happy New Year!  Find the light in the darkness, folks -- it's always there if you really look.  See you in 2022!".

So!! This is the first goddamned Ghostbusters comic thing in two goddamned years!
I've checked in on Waltz's Twitter at least once a month for hints of anything.
It's been two fucking years of Ninja Turtles, GI Joe, Ninja Turtles, GI Joe, etc, etc, etc, infinity.
Its been quite the slog.

Anyway! Back to the pic!
Is it a hint towards storyline?
I don't think so.
I think this is just the artist shaking the dust off.
It's a New Year's related thing, death is hanging over the character's head, it's a metaphor for the 2020's.
Plus, the artist is a Ray and Kylie fanboy, so that's why they're in the pic, it's just his favorite characters fighting the embodiment of the times we're living in.
It's professional fanart.
BUT! It IS signifying the Ghostbusters comic franchise is going to start to rev up again.
Why else tweet it?
No, it's not random.
It's not news per se, except that we ARE going to start to get real news.

A perusal of the Ghostbuster Wiki shows Dan Schoening and Erik Burnham, the writer and artist of the GB comics, will do a convention on May 7th.
That'll probably be to drop full news on the next GB thing.
BUT! No doubt Waltz's Twitter will drop stuff earlier than that if this pic is any indication.
So, we will indeed know something by April.

Stay tuned.
