Why I'm fed up with bigotry.

Charlottesville.
And Trump's reaction to Charlottesville.
And every Trump voter's reaction to Trump's reaction to Charlottesville.

That did it.
That tore it.
That woke me up to that I'm surrounded by meatheads that could turn into murdering monsters on a fucking dime.
I mean, I always sorta knew, but I didn't quite know the full depths of it.

And it certainly woke me up out of the anti-feminist bullshit the crypto-Nazis were hiding behind leading up to 2016.

Every rotten thing Trump has done since has just been extra cherries on the shit sundae.
I haven't been surprised.
I've been pissed, but I haven't been surprised.

Charlottesville was the test, and red hatters failed it with flying colors.
Nope, it ain't cute anymore.
Fuck this bullshit, and fuck these people.

If you're one of 'em, get out of my blog.
I ain't having it.
Piss off.

Up next, I'm compiling all my anti-bigot rants.
I THINK I found 'em all.
The good ones, anyway.
Stay tuned.

Transphobia is bullshit.

In "I don't h8 the 90's anymore (Part 6)", I talked about Adam West's autobiography.

"Back To The Batcave", check it out.

What does this have to do with transphobia, and transgenderism?
I'm getting to that.
Gimme a sec.
*Sips water*
Okay here we go...

So, in that book, Adam recounts a story of going out on a date with this woman who turned out to be a hermaphrodite.
He didn't sleep with her, but they ended up having a conversation about her life and times, and he learned a lot, and made a friend.

Y'know what he didn't do?
He didn't beat her to a pulp.
Cuz Adam West was a hip cat.
And a real man.

Stomping someone to ketchup because you're displeased by the surprise in their Amazon package isn't "macho", it betrays deep seated insecurities that make you look weak.

And that's what transphobia and homophobia are all about.
Insecurity.

Adam was also good friends with Liberace (he was a villain on the show).
Liberace was as fruity and queeny as gay guys come.
And Adam loved him.
He said "he was a darling".
Cuz Adam was a hip cat.

We lost ground as a society since the 60's.
I blame Reagan.
Fuck Reagan.
Fuck his fan club.

Transphobia is about fear of the dick, or the invisible dick (for the fully transitioned trans-woman).

Now, say I'm at a restaurant, I order a plate of tacos, and the server brings me hot dogs.
Do I beat the server to death?
No, that's dumb.
I'd go to jail, and financially inconvenience my family.
I send the hot dogs back, and ask again for the tacos.
If they repeat the mistake, I go to another restaurant.
It's really an easy dilemma to solve.

Now, if the server tried to ram the hot dogs down my throat, then there'd be a problem.
But, that's not a thing that happens.
It just isn't.
Don't listen to Pat Robertson.
For anything.

I think transphobes and homophobes are terrified that the hot dogs are delicious.

No, it's worse.
Homophobes are terrified that the hot dogs are delicious, transphobes are terrified that every delicious taco might have some secret hot dog meat mixed in.

You'd think it were a fatal allergy.
Is there an epi-pen for dick?
Of all the fake quack de-regulated alt-medicine out there, I'm amazed someone hasn't thought to cash in on this.

Either hyper-capitalist scum aren't as creative as me, or even they feel hinky cashing in on bigotry.

Y'know what other capitalist venture can't afford to be bigoted?
The porn industry.
They do everything.

A couple times, watching porn, I've had thumbnails of bisexual or transgender stuff pop up in my face.
Did I scream? Did I puke? Did I try to gouge my eyes out?
Nope, I just said "nope, not into that", and clicked away to something else.
Again, easy dilemma to solve.
One little button push takes it away.
No harm to anyone on either side.

A fundamentalist Christian would be crying in the shower with a toothbrush down his pee-hole trying to scrub the evil out.

Boy, am I ever glad I'm atheist.
Religion is a drag.
Always was.

And none of this even gets into whether post-op transgendered people are "real women", or "real men", or if transgenderism is even "a real condition".

Does it matter?
How about basic human respect no matter what?
Y'know, like Adam West.

Be like Adam West.

Racism is bullshit.

Or- My Thing On Racism- Part 2.

Previously-
My thing on racism.(part 1)

I've laid this out numerous times on message boards, and on Facebook, but it occurred to me, I haven't logged it down here.

Or, if I have, it's buried in some other rant, and I can't find it.

Anyway, I want it handy.

So, here it is.
Racism is bullshit.
Actual bullshit.

Set aside the immorality, and the history, and all that, and at its essence, it's a pseudo-science.

Like flat Earth, crystal healing, anti-vax, chem-trails, shit like that.

"Race", itself is a bullshit concept thought up by racists in the first place.
In a dark age time before people even knew about germs and handwashing.
Back in oldy-times, they justified it with phrenology, which is a quack pseudo-science in its own right.

DNA slam dunks it, we're all the same.
In the ways that matter.
Eye color, hair color, skin color, that's all superficial.
There's no such thing as "races", we're all humans.

When we talk about "race", and "racism", in mainstream political discussion, we really mean "ethnicity/color", and  "ethnic/color prejudice".

If we called racism what it is, ethnic/color prejudice, it would cut it off at the knees as the irrational dipshit nonsense it is.
But, the mainstream media, which bigots like to pretend is "liberal", doesn't want to piss the bigots off, because they buy sponsored products too, so they play their language game.

Now, remember when I said let's set aside the morals and history?
Let's pick it back up.

Given that we're all humans, and are no different than differently colored cats or horses, those were PEOPLE the south enslaved.
Those were PEOPLE the Klan murdered.
Emmett Till was a REAL little boy that piece of shit beat to death.
And those are REAL kids and babies in those doggie cages down in Texas right now.

If there's a Hell, all these "good Christians", that thought all of that was a good idea are going there.
Or are there.

"But it's backed by evolution!!".

Nope.
Covered that before.
Here.

Debunked garbage.

And even if all the pseudo-science assertions of race were true, that wouldn't automatically justify hurting other people.
How would that even work?

Pets are lower than us on the totem pole, but we don't torture pets, and those that do are socially frowned on.
There's a whole ASPCA ad campaign that sickens everyone with beaten puppies and kittens.

Christ, even the animals we EAT are killed humanely, because torture is socially frowned on.
In spite of the Bush administration trying to normalize it.

Ditto all of the above for circus animals.

Ditto retarded people.

Ditto wheelchair kids.

Ditto anyone or anything that isn't friggin' Captain America.

Abusing those weaker than you is universally acknowledged as assholism.
So, what brilliant logic did violent racists come up with?
...nothing.
They threw a bunch of insulting adjectives at the other ethnic groups to say they were of a low moral character, but...isn't murdering people low moral character?
Didn't apply to them for some magic reason.

Because every tyrant and bully is a hypocrite.

It's all bullshit.
Every breath of it.
Every scribble of it.

And that's my thing on that.

Corrections/updates: Compilation.

There, I think that's all of them.
If not, I'll make a series two.

I'll link this to archives.

Corrections/updates Part 18.

In "Some MORE shows I hate that everyone else likes", I ranted and raved, and hooted and hollered about a bunch of stuff.
But in particular, Zach Galifianakis, and Tim & Eric.

I need to rewind a bit for context.

Way back at #2 of this series, titled "Another update on an old post", I brought up Bill Maher's shitty comments about Stan Lee's death.

Well, let's dig into that.

Here he is tripling down on that bullshit, and the article already points out his hypocrisy.

And here's Peter David (yes, that Peter David) curb stomping Maher into strawberry jam.

So, us geeks are pretty unified against Maher's crap by now, right?
Okay then!

Well,  Zach Galifianakis said pretty much all the same bullshit about comic book fans that Maher did.
In 2005, he was in "The Comedians Of Comedy", with Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, and Maria Bamford.
It's a documentary series of the comedy tour they went on together.
Posehn and Oswalt are sitting around shooting the shit about comics, and Galifianakis sneaks aside to do a "Real World", style confessional thingy to the camera, and shits all over their hobby Maher style.
Posehn catches wind of it, and laughs it off.

I didn't.
Fuck him.
I've seen him as a hipster douche ever since.
Everything he's done has rubbed me the wrong way.
I avoid him.
His films, his shows, fuck him.

"Oh, aren't I cute? I'm a lovable Teddy bear!".
No, you're not, you're a snotty douche who wears a mask.

And if Maher rubs you the wrong way, I don't know why a lot of the same people lap up everything Galifianakis does.
Particularly those wretched "The Hangover", movies.

But, Patton Oswalt still frigging swears by him as some comic fucking genius, so what the fuck do I know?
*Shrug*

It's just my opinion, I don't like the guy.
Nor Tim & Eric.
Nor Tosh.
I don't like that snotty sour faced hipster style.

If Tim & Eric, or "Hangover", is your humor style, enjoy away.
I wish I could.
I don't wanna crap all over your parade.
Have your fun.

2012 was better days, I guess, in that I could expend such fist shaking outrage over such meaningless bullshit.

Like I said in part 6 of this series, we have to save our really good hate for politicians, clergy, and CEOs.

I'm getting off the hate train for celebrities.
Unless it's something egregious, like Kanye saying slavery was a choice, or some shit like that.
And even then, I dismiss him as just a knucklehead.

People like Jordon Peterson who pretend to be experts, they're the ones you really have to keep a fucking eye on.
And that poisonous sack of shit has Bill Maher's ear.

Anyway, that's my bit on that.

Corrections/updates Part 17.

In "Things that don't give me nightmares #9", I ranted that even though Nancy Grace is awful, she was at least a cultural barometer for the morals and ethics of our country, in that at least we all still hate rape and baby cannibalism.

Yeah, not so much anymore in the age of Trump.

The Red Hat people lined up to vote for Roy Moore, a pedophile.
They don't care about Trump's pussy grabbing.
They don't care about his philandering, when they made a huge deal about Clinton's.
They don't care about his treason.
They don't care about Mexican kids dying in cages.
They don't care about diabetics dying because the price of insulin has gone through the roof for no better reason than corporate greed.
They don't care that Kavanaugh was/is a molesty perv.
They don't care about mothers that have to push out their miscarriage with no doctor's help, because they hate "sluts", so much that that takes priority.

They believe in absolutely nothing.

They're pigs in people clothes.

They're the zombie horde.

Well, at least I had those 8 Obama years to relax a bit.
My scrambled marbles needed the recuperation time from the damage the Bush years did.

But, vacation's over.
Back into the shit!
:-(

All right, let's talk Ghostbusters 3.

I did my big buildup for "Ghostbusters: Answer The Call", I should probably tackle this one in a similar fashion.

Starting with the Ghostbusters 3 version of "In defense of the Ghostbusters reboot".
Well, doesn't need much defending, this is the one everyone wanted.

But, I could revise my arguments, I guess.

Re: "Waaahh! It's a reboot!! Me no wanna reboot!!".

I said...

And sure, I vowed to avoid all horror remakes from that moment forward...but then I went to see the Evil Dead remake, and was pleasantly surprised, and proudly added it to the collection.

Then, renewed financial interest in the property led to "Ash vs Evil Dead", so everyone's happy.

Whelp, both the renewed interest, and the backlash, led to GB3, so here we are.

Re: "Waaahhh!! I wanted an original cast reunion!!".

I said...

Okay, the casual movie fans that don't follow the internet have this narrative in their head that they're hanging onto like fucking grim death, and it has no validity, and it goes like this.

"A cast reunion was on the table, but then evil feminists swooped in on their brooms, and stole it away".

No.
Just no.
Dumbasses.

A cast reunion wasn't on the table, it was never gonna happen, it was dead as a doornail.
Forever.
Accept it.
Bill Murray didn't want to do it, and then Harold Ramis died.
It was dead in the water.
Finito.
Done.
Over.

It was reboot, or nothing.
Forever.
And Hollywood doesn't let a profitable IP die forever, that's not how any business works.

So, if you wanted NO reboot out of spite, that wasn't on the table either.
It was reboot or bust.
Whether it happened now, or 20 years from now.
And they weren't gonna wait that long either.
Its been 25 years since GB2, we've waited long enough.

If you wanted to go to your grave with no more Ghostbusters, you're just petty and selfish.

Well, at the time, I was correct.
Bill Murray kept refusing to do it.

The deal was struck back when they made the first one that the four main guys and Ivan had to all agree on the script before moving ahead on a sequel.
If any of the 5 disagreed, it went back to the drawing board.

Bill Murray saying "no", kept it in Development Hell for 30+ years.
He had all the power.
And he used it.
And there was no reason at all to expect that he wouldn't keep doing so.

He didn't enjoy filming GB2, and didn't like how it came out, so he didn't want to go through that again.
He peed on the parade.

Only once he was butt-hurt after ATC came out has he softened on that.

So, you can kiss Paul Feig's boots, haters.

Re: "Why all women?? Why can't it be a gender balanced team?".

Looks like you're getting one.

So, shaddap.

Re: "I hope it fails!!".

Well, it did.
Did it make your life better?
How's your healthcare?
Your taxes?
Your job prospects?
Oh, you shot yourself, and the entire middle class, and all your LGBT, Hispanic, and black friends and relatives in the faces with a bazooka by voting Trump?
Well, enjoy your pyrrhic victory.
You nasty incel dipshits.

Then, wrapping up that post, I said...

And here's the important bit, and I reference back to the Evil Dead remake.
If it succeeds, we get other stuff.
They didn't create Ghostcorps just to make this one flick.
We're also getting tons of classic GB merch goodies just from this one coming out.
There's more of that on the way if we get more films.
There's an animated one lined up that just got a director.
And there's that Channing Tatum led one I haven't heard anything new about in awhile.

Supporting GB16 gets us to that stuff.
Hopefully, it's also actually good.

Well, It didn't succeed, but we did and are getting that other stuff from Ghostcorp.
The merch, the crossover comics, and this third chapter to the originals.
(Not so much the Channing Tatum one though (thank goodness))
You gotta learn to play the long game.

Now, from "Ghostbusters: The Lean Years (Part 2)"....

And, with my recent investigations into my lost memories, I really know why Ghostbusters was a sigh of relief.
"The Demon Murder Case".
That came out just the year before this.
Fuck you, Lorraine Warren, fuck you.
And thank you, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis.
You were the antidote to a lot of childhood trauma.

Yeah, it's really hard in our dopey culture not to believe in, and be scared by, the supernatural.
Throw "Poltergeist", in there too.
"Poltergeist", was 1982, "Demon Murder Case", was 1983, and "Ghostbusters", finally came as an antidote in 1984.

We need this franchise to be around.

Also...

The IDW series started with Infestation, and for me, it was the year of hell, which I like even less than 1997.
Looking forward to that dumb series kept me sane during massive grief and fear.
And looking back, the Ghostbusters part was the best part, possibly the only good part.

So, it got me back into Ghostbusters without knowing it at the time.
And the Busters saved my sanity yet again.

Thank you, IDW.

Yep, and now we're in the Trump years.
Save us, 'Busters!

Well, that's re-examining old stuff, now for new stuff.

Plot conjecture!!

Ivan Reitman said Jason Reitman's pitch made him cry.
So, I'm guessing they're gonna tackle the loss of Egon head on.
Combined with the teaser trailer image of the Ecto coming out of dust and mothballs, I think it goes down like this...

After GB2, the guys had a third adventure that went south, and that's where they lost Egon.
Either he got fried, or he got physically swallowed up into the ghost dimension.
Or, a little of both.
Ray kept trying to get him back with gizmos, the other two guys gave up, and moved on, then Ray finally threw in the towel, sold the firehouse, and moved out to his family's farm.
Which is what's in the teaser trailer.

Then jump ahead 30 years, and his nephew and niece move in cuz their parents fell on hard times.
The niece and nephew meet a boy and girl friend at school, and the four of them become the new teenage Ghostbusters.

The thing that killed/kidnapped Egon comes back, there's your villain.

Bam, there you go.

Jason Reitman has a track record of tear-jerky drama-dies so I think we're in for some tissue boxes necessary for this one.
Good!
It needs to be different.
I hope it pisses off purists again.
And still rakes in 700 million.

And finally...

For me, GB16 GB3 just has to be better than GB2.
If it can clear that hurdle, anything above that is gravy.

My expectations for TFA were just "just be better than Episode 3".
It cleared that jump by a factor of 10.

*Crosses fingers* please be good.

I'll link to this to reference in the review of the flick when I finally go to it.
See you then.

Yep to all of that.
See you next time.
