So, Lucasfilm finally officially dropped the news...

So, it's not a movie thing, it's a novels, comics, and video games thing.
The timeline is 200 years before TPM.
They hint it may be a proving ground for movies down the line, although the word "movies", never escapes their lips, the term "future of the saga", comes up a lot.

Wish they'd do a big writer's room to plot out the movies like that.

For the movies, it looks like they're still using the "you wanna do one? Okay, here you go!", formula that's been such a mess behind the scenes so far.
