Yep, looks like Sony is slowly re-constructing all of their pre-MCU plans.

On top of being animated in the upcoming Spider-Gwen spinoff movie, Jessica is getting her own live-action movie in the Venom-verse.

Maybe she'll be what crosses the Venom-verse with the Spider-verse-verse.

Sony wants Alicia Vikander to play Jessica, and Michelle MacLaren to direct.
Doesn't mean they'll get them, but that's who they're looking for.

A lot of geek pundits are saying Jessica rightly belongs in the MCU for her Hydra backstory, and as a member of A-Force.

Maybe Sony knows that, and wants her as a bargaining chip.
Wouldn't put it past 'em.
I don't take a side, I just want the movies to be cool.

Venom was fun, Spider-verse was awesome, Morbius looks good, I stopped seeing Sony as a villain.
They're making good stuff again.
That's all that makes Marvel/Disney "the good guys", is the quality of their product.
It sure isn't their business practices.
If you hate Sony for playing hardball with Spidey, then cry just as hard about how Disney treats Universal over Hulk, or shut the fuck up.

If the Sony-verse is gonna be good, then it deserves to be MCU-adjacent.
And legally, as long as they use the characters they own, and don't mention Marvel/Disney characters, there's fuck-all Disney can do about it.

As fans, it just means we get more MCU movies.
And ones Disney would never make, cuz they refuse to go R.
With Fox absorbed, we need that studio that does something Disney doesn't.
Bring it on!

Heh, this was supposed to be a just a Jessica Drew update, and ended up being a whole rant on the state of Sony-Marvel.

Anyway, stay tuned for Jessica casting.

This, and Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk are the two biggies I'm keeping my eye on, because those are the two big female (Marvel) superheroes of my childhood that have never been live-action adapted.

Sue Storm from Fantastic Four we've had three versions of.
We finally got Wasp and Captain Marvel.
Black Widow's solo movie is finally coming in a couple months.
We've had all the X-Men girls since the 00's.

Jennifer and Jessica will solidify the whole thing.
We gotta get them on the game board.
C'mon, Hollywood, hurry up.
