Well!! From not knowing at all what I wanted for my birthday, and not particularly giving a shit about my birthday, to now, its been quite the surprising saga!
I re-became a Le Guin fan; it helped put the cherry on top of changing my worldview, and now these home stretch cleanup movies.
Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)
And, I've got it!!!
The saga of this movie is done!!
From Fox-Disney acquisition, to buildup, to having it.
What a fucking ride.
Star Trek: Stardate Collection.
Being a collection of...
So!! I already had 1-8, why get these again just for crummy old 9-10?
Space!! The final frontier!! 😏 Specifically, shelf space.
My 00's editions of these movies came in big cumbersome VHS-sized fucking boxes.
This set compresses them down to one DVD case.
Part 1 & 2 are the plain vanilla editions, and my 00's editions of 1 & 2 are special editions.
No biggie, I just transplanted 'em.
Whole set was 16 bucks; so for the price of any one of these, I got everything else for pretty much free.
So, tossing a couple out in favor of my SEs is fine and dandy.
The bonus disk for my 00's edition of 4 has the famous Margaret Bonanno interview.
I transplanted the bonus disks into some spare packaging I had kicking around, so that's all preserved.
So, all that I really threw out was doubles of 3-8, , and those shitty old boxes.
Now my Star Trek shelf is ready to go for the next 10 years of streaming era shows.
Assuming physical media doesn't die. It probably will. 😒
So, yeah, 16 bucks for 2 free movies, and a radical overhaul of my shelves, that was a fucking steal.
Can't beat that with a fucking stick.
Stephen King: Movies & TV collection
Being a collection of....
Set was 18 bucks.
Dead Zone alone would be worth it. For the price of DZ, all the rest was free.
Yeah, this was a good fucking haul.
I'm a happy fella.
And, that finally blew out the birthday cash.
So that's the end of that.
On to Christmas, and other random Bullmoose hauls.
Stay tuned!

Mike Flanagan is trying to turn "Carrie" into a series. If it happens, it'll be the FOURTH time "Carrie" has made it to the screen. FOURTH. I was sneering about how they've done every King movie twice now and even three times but now "Carrie" is going to be the FOURTH. That's gotta be a first. They even brought the stage musical back a few years ago, even though the original stage version from back in 1988 bombed completely and everyone hated it. People just can't let this damn thing go! And it's not like they got it wrong in 1976!
You know, they actually had this idea back in 2002--if you can recall the 2002 TV movie version of "Carrie" it ends with her still alive. They were going to turn it into a series! What would that be, her losing her mind and blowing shit up every week, lather rinse repeat?
There's two ways you could do a Carrie show. One, have her move from town to town trying to refrain from the powers, and fucking up every week. That's basically, both The Hulk TV show, and Firestarter. Two, have her keep going batshit, and escalate until she almost destroys the world. That's Marvel's Dark Phoenix saga. Its been done.
I noticed they did "Salem's Lot" a third time, and...it bombed? AGAIN? Is King going to live another quarter century for when they try it a FOURTH time? Will they have done The Stand for a 3rd time by then?
Kee-ripes.
I know there were jokes about the Carrie show idea back in 2002 when the movie aired.
