My FB anti-TERF stuff in one place: Part 1.

Apparently some missed it. and I want it handy.

June 6th

Autogynephilia is a pseudoscience hypothesis. Why is this important? TERFs love it, and they won't stop dishonestly referencing it. Third Google video result on Helen Joyce "what is autogynephilia?". Why do I go so hard against Helen Joyce? Oh, gee, I dunno, maybe cuz I've had her clobbered on my head like she's the queen of squeaky-clean non-TERF trans policy criticism. Anyway, scientific peer reviewed refutation of autogynephilia.

The Littman 2018 ROGD study is widely discredited by the scientific community. Why is this important? Because it's where the whole idea of transness "spreading as a social contagion" comes from, and TERFs (like Helen Joyce) love to dishonestly cite it in spite of the problems with it.  As a sample of the criticisms, I attach a letter to Psychology Today signed by 40 experts.

Part 1 of 2.
The Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine, or SEGM is an anti-trans religious based Republican think tank posing as a medical association.
They helped Ron Desantis pass all of his sadistically anti-trans legislation by penning "the June 2022 Florida Medicaid Report on the Medical Treatment of Gender Dysphoria" or just "the Florida review".
See below a link to an article on the dark money trail of SEGM, and a refutation by experts to the Florida review.

(Got taken down. Goddammit Update: Restored!!!)

Part 2 of 2.
Apparently, British anti-trans bigots liked what they saw in Florida.
Hilary Cass, author of the Cass report, met with Patrick Hunter, of both the Catholic Medical Association, and the SEGM. The SEGM and CMA being as connected as parts of Voltron.
"Ohhh, ohhh, guilt by association! Maybe her ideas are good even if her friends are creepy!".
Nope! The Cass report references ROGD! Remember that? Yeah.
Anyway, more details in the linked article.

Note-

ROGD = Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria. Basically, the idea that the Babadook can climb out of a storybook, bite you, and give you the trans. Or Samara (from "The Ring") out of your TV. Except invisibly in your mind; which makes it totally science, and for reals.
