Disney/Fox Part 2.5: The history of Marvel's movie deals. part 2.
A couple films in the MCU look prescient in hindsight.
Warning, big Spider-Man: No Way Home spoilers ahead, and possible "Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness" spoilers.
...and those two flicks are "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Ant-Man".
Specifically, I mean the after-credits scenes.
"Winter Soldier" we see Wanda & Pietro.
"Ant-Man" we see Luis tell one of his stories, and the female Shield agent in his story says "...and we've got a guy who climbs walls".
That's Spider-Man.
And sure enough, next movie was "Civil War" and had Spider-Man.
Then all the Spideys crossed in "No Way Home".
It's very fitting his seed was planted in the movie of another bug-man. 😉
And Wanda & Pietro in "Winter Solider" led to them being in "Age Of Ultron".
Which led to Wanda being in "Civil War" "Infinity War" "Endgame" "Wandavision" and now "Multiverse Of Madness" which looks to be bringing in the X-Men.
And Pietro is an X-Man.
And his Fox self may pop up in "Multiverse".
There are rumors.
Now, in the case of Spidey, Marvel/Disney knew they were hashing out the deal with Sony.
X-Men....there's no way they could have known, but I think they used those characters "just in case".
So! When you watch them now, and for future generations who'll grow up with a merged Marvel universe, it'll LOOK LIKE they knew.
It'll look like they planted the seeds for Sony & Fox crossing over way back in 2014-2015.
To the parents of those future children, I say, don't tell 'em.
Let 'em think it.
It's more awesome that way.
Me, I'm totally gonna head-canon it. 😉😏
I'll retro-link this in the big Marvel/Fox crossovers thingie.
