Disney/Fox Part 1.4: Why it matters that Marvel is re-assembling.

Why am I so anxious/excited about this whole thing?

Well, put it this way...

Imagine if somehow, MGM nabbed the rights to Spock from Star Trek.
Then they proceeded to make solo Spock movies that pretend the rest of Star Trek doesn't exist.

Likewise, Paramount makes Star Trek movies and shows that pretend Spock never existed.

And then this weird state of affairs lasts for 30 fucking years.

If Paramount finally got Spock back, you'd be pretty fucking happy wouldn't you?

If you're not a Trekkie, then make it Luke and Star Wars, or Tyrion and Thrones, or Claire and Outlander, or Jesse and Breaking Bad, or whatever.

It would be weird if vital characters you love got carved out of those franchises.
Well, Marvel is like that for me.
In the comic books, all these characters play together.
It's not just the mixing and matching of superpowers for fights, it's character relationships.

You MCU-only fans loved the Wanda and Vision love story, right?

Well, there's more where that came from.

In the comics, Spidey and Human Torch are best bros.

Wasp, Sue Storm, and She-Hulk are gal-pals.

She-Hulk is the godmother to Sue's children.

She-Hulk temporarily replaces Thing in Fantastic Four, and she actually vibes with the team better!

Carol Danvers temporarily gets turned into a Girl-Thing, and has a romance with Thing!

Reed Richards and Bruce Banner are science buddies!

T'Challa and Storm are married!

Wolverine and Hulk are constant rivals!

Just like Wanda and Vision had to be introduced in "Age Of Ultron" for "Wandavision" to happen, all these characters need to get on the game board so all of the above can be re-constituted.

In short, I want the Marvel universe I grew up reading in comics back.
I want all of that.
It's fucking great, and I want to share it with the world.
I can't fucking wait.
I can't wait for you to see it and love it.

That's why I can't shut up about it.
Hope that clarifies, and makes me seem less kooky.

As usual, I'll retro-link this in the big Marvel/Fox crossovers thingie.

Sentry is bad news.
If they ever drop him into the universe at all, we know they're gonna go dark.
