Two weeks late. Well, better than missing it period.
Previously with Captain Marvel...
Non-spoiler review-
Whelp, I have a different grading curve for phases 4-5 than everyone else it seems....
I love Thor 4, loved "Quantumania" maybe even a smidge more than Thor 4, and Guardians 3 left me fucking cold.
I'd put this better than the first "Captain Marvel" about tied with Thor 4, not quite as good as "Quantumania" and still vast leaps ahead of Guardians 3.
Which is a shame, because Guardians 3 was really trying hard to please scale wise compared to this one.
Mild-spoiler review-
You don't need to have seen "Wandavision" or "Ms Marvel" to see this.
There was a girl in front of me recapping "Wandavision" "Ms Marvel" the first "Captain Marvel" and "Endgame" to her dad.
Did a damned good job of it too.
She needn't have bothered. The movie does it for you.
Sweet of her to be prepared though!

Since we're in spoilers, yes, Kelsey Grammer as Beast pops up.
CG with him voicing; not wearing the real makeup.
Anyway, we're finally getting the X-Men crossed in.
Not a dimensional clone like Xavier in "Multiverse Of Madness"; the real deal.
Beast from X3 died offscreen in the dark future in "Days Of Future Past" but he was alive again in the positive alternate future in the same flick; so, we're in the post DoFP timeline at the end of "The Marvels".
Wild to think, it was 4 years ago, that "Dark Phoenix" was the last Fox-verse X-Men flick I thought I'd ever see. Knew Disney had bought Fox, but I was 100% sure they were just gonna reboot like Tom Holland Spider-Man.
No idea that "No Way Home" "Multiverse Of Madness" this, and Deadpool 3 were coming.
And wild to think it was 4 years ago thinking about "Dark Phoenix" and this flick driving home on the exact same road.
Feels like yesterday. Damn.
Spoilers end-
And, on that note, this is the last MCU movie of this year.
Then comes Deadpool 3, and that's the only MCU movie for 2024.
Stay tuned!
