The one that started it all!
And I don't just mean the Fox-Men franchise.
I mean that this movie, moreso than even Iron Man, got the Marvel movie universe up on its feet.
After this, came the Sam Raimi Spider-Mans, and then the third of those was just two years before Iron Man, which is a blink in movie time.
Three years before Iron Man? Last Stand.
Two years after Iron Man? First Class.
X-Men made Iron Man possible, and then Iron Man inspired X-Men to course-correct.
It all bleeds together.
So, yeah, thank you, Fox-Men universe.
And thank you, X-Men 1 for getting that going.
