Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)

Big 2019 Movies Part 13.

Previously-

Previously with this franchise-

Blows 3, 4, & 5 away easily.
Yeah, you don't need fan theories to get this to work with 3-5, just go ahead, and ignore 3-5.
They never happened.
They were rough drafts.

Still not as good as 1 & 2.
Nothing can recapture that magic short of giving Cameron a youth potion.

Linda Hamilton is both badass, and comic relief.
Ditto Arnold.

Grace and Dani handle all the dark depressing stuff.

There needs to be a whole comic book series or something about Grace, she's a goddamned superhero.

Rev-9 is the scariest villain we've had in the series.
We're back to full T1 level horror-scary with him.

We get tender moments with all of our good guy leads, but we never seem to get enough of it.
At least for my tastes.

I dunno, maybe if I got out a stopwatch, there's as much or more than we got from Sarah and Kyle in T1, and Sarah and John in T2, but I didn't feel it enough.
YMMV.

Mixed bag in the character development vs action departments, but enjoyable overall.

Biggest flaw?
We end on another goddamned cliffhanger!
Augh!

Tim Miller made the best Terminator movie a non-Cameron human being could possibly make, IMHO.

Re-capturing the Cameron magic is hard enough, doing it almost 30 years after T2 is damned near fatally impossible.
That he came this close and lived to tell the tale, it ought to earn him a fucking medal.

Yeah, go check it out.
You should be entertained.

Next time, Doctor Sleep!
