Finn Wolfhard ("Stranger Things", "IT"), and Carrie Coon (Proxima Midnight from "Infinity War"), are playing a mother and son.
From Dark Horizons-
The story for the sequel to the two original films is said to focus on a single mom and her family, with Coon as the mom and Wolfhard as her son. More family members have yet to be cast.

Finn Wolfhard is in "Stranger Things," "IT," that Weezer "Take On Me" video playing the 1985 Rivers Cuomo, and now this...does he just EXCLUSIVELY do 80s themed stuff?
It would seem so.
All he needs to complete the set, is to do an episode of "The Goldbergs".
