Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

Another franchise I slacked off on.
Because, like "Tron: Ares" its been stuck in development Hell for a decade.
Well, Tron a little over, Furiosa a little under.

I saw "Mad Max: Fury Road" twice at the theater (1, 2), and bought it, so I must have loved it.
So, I guess I'm seeing this one.

Anya Taylor-Joy is the younger Furiosa.
Cuz Charlize Theron aged out of the role of her younger self.
Thanks, foot-dragging Hollywood suits.
Ah, well, Anya's cool too.

Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Black Manta!!) are also in it.
Hemsworth is the main baddie.
It's baby-Furiosa vs Evil Thor.

Two trailers dropped. here's those.

So, we finally have good shit this summer out the other end of the covid tunnel.
Now, we just have to keep Trump from being re-elected so there'll still be a world next year.

Oh, so it WASN'T Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy hating each other? Guess the press hyped that up.
I sure hope they pumped Anya up for this role, thought she was a bit petite for an action star.

As long as it isn't Ridley directing the damn things anymore, I guess I could watch. Of course, that's had mixed results in the past...

"TRON: Legacy" didn't work on a plot level, but I sure did like those visuals. Honestly, that's probably the last time I was ever really impressed with a movie's visuals.

RE: Fury Road. Gossip hounds said they hate each other. Tom Hardy denied it, but admitted he was butt-hurt during the shooting that Theron dominated so much, and is ashamed of himself.
Theron won't talk about it. Make of that what you will.

I assume the middle one is you referring to the Alien franchise?
I dunno, I warmed up a little to the Prometheus duology.
I still like Alien/Aliens best.
Although, I've run into contrarians lately who like to piss on Aliens.
Alien got Sigourney Weaver noticed, Aliens made her a star.
If you hate every breath James Cameron draws for weird some reason, Aliens did that.

I like "Tron Legacy" okay.
I said in my birthday Blu-ray review, the Trons work best binged together like "Shining" and "Dr. Sleep" or "Rocky 4" and "Creed 2".

Gossip, figures. Whatever--"Mad Max: Fury Road" is one of the few reboots or legacy sequels or whatever that actually worked pretty well, so whatever. I'll watch for the reviews on this new one and if I hear it has terrific action scenes I'll go see it.

"Prometheus" got a bad rap, I agree, but it wasn't a *great* movie either, and you know what people expect out of Ridley Scott returning to the "Alien" franchise. Then "Alien: Covenant" really was very weak, IMO. God he really wants us to care about that Michael Fassbender character doesn't he?

"Aliens" - Would've been awesome if she won Best Actress, huh?

"TRON: Legacy" not really working on a plot level is par for the course with the original "TRON," which I also like, and which is also a total pile of junk on a plot level.

By the way, "Killers Of The Flower Moon" isn't that great. Overlong, and DiCaprio has gotten kind of bad at this point, too old to be playing that role, using a cornball accent and doing this dumb frowning facial expression the whole movie. It just doesn't seem like that ambitious a film--more like a miniseries that got released as a standalone film.

Nice that a major filmmaker made a movie about Osage Nation though, which I've been hearing about out here my whole life.
