Anthony Bourdain said it best....
Liberals as well as conservatives fell for and lapped up his bullshit.
All my life, I've had it beaten over my head by his dupes what a supposed genius he was.
I just don't see it. I've run the math every which way.
Nothing about his cynical jaundiced view of the world was brand new, or unique to him.
Nothing about the particular way he wielded that cynical worldview upon the world stage was especially chessmaster-y, or unique to him.
Otherwise, we have to say Donald Rumsfeld was a fucking genius, and he most assuredly fucking wasn't. Rummy tried to rebuild Iraq with fucking Reaganomics. Yeah, Kissinger wouldn't have done that. What would he have done instead? Well, let's look at Cambodia. Oh, he just gave them the finger.
Yeah, Kissinger was worse than Rummy, and Rummy was a fucktard.
So what was so brilliant about the shit-heel?
All I can figure, is his stupid grandpa face, and his deep slow turtle voice had a hypnotic effect on dumb people, and they thought he was Yoda.
Which made HIM think he was Yoda, and carry himself with swagger, and it was just an escalating cycle of bullshit.
Bullshit that killed hundreds of thousands, and left bloody gashes in liberty and democracy.
And you can't even blow him over being a successful Jewish immigrant, because he was a self-hating Jew who hated other Jews, and toadied up to anti-Semitic fascists like Nixon and Reagan.
But, oh, how the powerful elite loved him.
Which just goes to show our alleged system of meritocracy is just a bunch of secret handshakes and elaborate ass-tongue-ings.
Good people trickle through in spite of the hurdles, not because of them.
There's no justice in his death.
He lived to 100, and did as much damage as the laws of biology and physics allowed him to possibly do. The shape of the world is ugly because of him. 10 generations will have to clean up his mess.
He outlived better human beings like Anthony Bourdain.
The only positive take away, is him being a cautionary warning of what to oppose in this world and life.
No one outside the right-wing delusion bubble takes Karl Rove or Steve Bannon seriously as "intellectuals".
If even 1% of that is learning from the career of Kissinger, then some little silver lining came out of it all.
Oh, and here's the updated grid.
