Oh!
This dropped a week or so ago, but Hostess canceled the GBA tie-in Twinkies with blue cream.
Oh well, can't have 'em on my diet anyway.
:(

You out there BD?
Are you still being blocked, or did I say or do something to disgust you?

Not blocked and nothing offensive, just little to talk about.

Uhh...True Detective season 3 is okay. Nothing stupid or terribly lurid or trashy like marred season 1, and it's memorable enough unlike the much hated season 2 which I cannot remember the plot of to save my life.

The Big Red One from 1980 has Lee Marvin and Mark Hamill in it and was directed by tough guy auteur Sam Fuller as a series of vignettes about his WW2 experience but it's just weird, a half funny half serious B movie with a huge budget and it was reconstructed to be 162 minutes by the Time magazine critic after Fuller died...uhh, see it once I guess?

Oh, right, keep forgetting you're doing all those series binges.

Thinking of checking out Castlevania?
It's pretty good.
I mean, it's got Alucard, and you're a big "Symphony Of The Night" fanboy.

Got lots of blood and cussing.
Think everyone's trying to be like Game Of Thrones now.
For better and worse.
It actually works for Castlevania.

Lots of game Easter eggs from all up and down the series timeline.
Monsters, power items, levels, reference to Leon Belmont, the flying sword, the swirly D&D dice shaped save-state thing is the control mechanism for the castle teleport, etc, etc.

You might dig it.

Dunno why they waited 'til after the anniversary day but...*shrug*

I'll make a note of it. I had heard a few good things about it. Also heard good things about the HBO Watchmen show but haven't watched it yet!! Better Call Saul season 4 was fairly good (they're still having trouble handling BrBa fanservice though), Stranger Things season 3 could've been better, I actually liked how it started way more than how it ended. They still haven't come up with a good monster!

On the subject of Alucard, one of those prog bands *Legion* used to gush about actually did an Alucard SONG.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtaiyGHbhMc

That's from way back in 1970 on their first album, note that a synth is used in the main riff, one of the earliest synth riffs ever. It's a cool song too!

Castlevania stuff? Is Slogra in there? Gaibon? Any of the mansions from "Simon's Quest"? Sypha from CV3? That disgusting Beelzebub monster? The Crissaegrim? The "Under Mole" from the second Castlevania Game Boy game? Bouncing diamonds used as weapons? Hilariously puffy voice acting?

I think it's pretty hilarious that Bill Murray is in "Ghostbusters" just so they'd give him his "Razor's Edge" movie the same year and nobody gave a crap about that movie then and nobody gives a crap about it now. I wonder if Murray himself even gives a crap about it still, it was a huge personal pet project for him (and it's NOT good, either.)

Gaibon & Slogra?
Oh, yes!

Sypha, Hell yes!
She's the redhead in the blu-ray box art!
Her and Trevor are the main protagonists!
They introduce her pretty quick.
Grant Danasty does not show up, but they make a joke about having met him offscreen in one of the first episodes of season 3.
Guess nobody liked Grant, and the showrunners goof on that.
Saint Germain becomes their temporary third guy for that season.

Sypha's on the covers of season 2 & 3.
She's even doing a spell on season 2.
