Batman's 80th birthday is being celebrated this month, so may as well squeeze this in there....
Pennyworth (2019)
I'm eight episodes in so far, and so far, so good!
About young Alfred Pennyworth (Alfred the butler from Batman).
Thomas and Martha Wayne are in it too.
Thomas hasn't married Martha yet, so she's Martha Kane.
Surprisingly good!
Damned good!
The kind of idea you hear on paper, and scoff, but when you see it executed, damn!
It's got a James Bond/Kingsman vibe to it.
And it's got cussing and bewbies, so it's not for the kiddies.
Main plot is, Alfred and two of his military buddies have started a security company, but they very quickly get embroiled in a war between secret societies, and the spy agencies spying on them.
That's how Thomas and Martha factor in.
Martha is a reporter, Thomas is a spy.
Nothing violates canon yet, they're pulling off a really good dance with it so far.
Gotta say, I like it better than Gotham.
And I really dug Gotham.
Someday, I have to buy all of Adam West, all of Kevin Conroy, all of Gotham, and this easily goes in the collection too.
I just hope it sticks around for awhile, and doesn't go the way of "Krypton".
Anyway, highly recommended.
