Masters Of Horror! (Stuart Gordon)

Okay, like with Dan O'Bannon, and Tobe Hooper, there was some depressing junk in there, so I've trimmed it down to the cultural milestone stuff he's known for.
I'm not trying to be IMDB anyway.

Re-Animator (1985)

See here.

Yep, this'll be on his tombstone.

From Beyond (1986)

Another one based on Lovecraft, and starring Jeffrey Combs.
It's REALLY fucked up.
Watch it today.
Doo eet.

About a guy who invents a tuning fork hooked up to amps that stimulates your pineal gland to act as a third eye to be able to see (and be seen by) creatures from another dimension.

Mayhem, brain eating, shape-shifting, and kinky sex ensue.

Y'know, one you can watch with the kids. )B-)

Dolls (1987)

One of the ones I always saw the box for at Nicely's, and never nutted up and rented.

From everything I can gather, it's Puppetmaster if it was actually good.
Yes, someone made that movie.

Then Puppetmaster ripped it off top to bottom just two years later.
Bastids.

Robot Jox (1990)

The original "Pacific Rim". );-)

Red Letter Media watched it on "Best Of The Worst", and they were disappointed that it was actually good!

Fortress (1992)

Christopher Lambert as the good guy, Kurtwood Smith as the bad guy, an evil future prison, bombs in your gut called "intestinators", yeah, fun stuff, I liked it.

Wasn't quite on the level of "Total Recall", or Robocop", but it was nifty.

Body Snatchers (1993)

A remake of the 1957 one.

Which was remade before in 1978, and again in 2007 as "The Invasion".

Ebert gave it four stars, and we know how fucking hard he was to please with horror flicks.

Castle Freak (1995)

A deformed mongoloid love-child of some local bigwig is kept chained in a castle, and gets seethingly horny for some nubile tourist, and breaks loose.
Hi-jinks ensue.

Better than it sounds.

And, that's as much Stuart Gordon as I care to do (see intro).

Next and final quickie, Anne Rice.
