Well, the clues as to what's going on are all over the place.
Like a trail of Jimmies that keep getting up and moving, and turning out to be ants.
So!! In a recent interview, Tom Hardy said....
"People were going to judge us, you know? Marvel Universe under [Kevin] Feige’s management is doing so well. Spider-Man has gone to Feige’s camp at Marvel. We have one [at Sony]!".
The obvious interpretation that everyone is going with, is that Venom-verse is going to have it's own Spidey.
Assuming that is so, the Venom piece from the "Last Dance" trailer doesn't necessarily kill a Venom/Spidey cross after all.
In fact, Venom-verse may even have a Tom Holland clone who becomes Venom-Spidey.
And if that's the case, that could be the setup for Spidey 4.
Venom/Eddie die, but the Venom-piece becomes Venom-Spidey, and the torch gets passed.
Then, we get the MCU cross for "Secret Wars".
That would be a clever reversal of the comics, and the Raimi-verse Spidey.
With the symbiote going from Eddie to Peter instead of the other way around.
