TLDR version, it stinks!
October 23, 2014
When the hell did country music become the vehicle for war propaganda bullshit? When I was little, country was about drinking, and domestic abuse, and adultery, and bank robberies, and being framed for crimes by a dirty corrupt system, and outrunning police in car chases. There was rebellion there. Now it's about ass-licking Republican presidents. WTF happened?
And the update...

There was a little bit of it in Iraq War 1, but 9/11 was the full and final werewolf transformation. Of course, Ted Nugent was always a thing, but he was always laughed off as a clown. Until 9/11.
It's all been a cynical ploy to weaponize rednecks going as far back as "the southern strategy", with Nixon and Reagan.
9/11 just accelerated it and made it more obvious.
Rednecks are all fascism can get ahold of.
They tried penetrating rock n' roll, and comedy, and all they got was Dave Mustaine, and Dennis Miller for their trouble.

A LOT of metal musicians are conservative (though not all are Trump supporters) or have shown some conservative-leaning sensibilities...Kid Rock, Tom Araya, Joe Perry, Dave Mustaine, Alice Cooper, Glenn Danzig, Sully Erna, Gene Simmons (I'll leave Rush out of it, though some libertarians like to jack off to them because of the Ayn Rand silliness they toyed with back in the 1970s)....most of these guys weren't *Christians* but could still be very economically conservative, or very conservative on foreign policy. Johnny Ramone was conservative punk. Billy Corgan seems to like Alex Jones.
Dave Mustaine is generally a very obnoxious person and I think he's kind of jumped around a lot over the years. He always, ALWAYS tries to stir the pot whenever ANYONE talks to him.
Of course, the gay country Nine Inch Nails rap "Old Town Road" is a hilarious exception if you count that as a country song...and now that's the all time longest #1 ever on the charts!
Not Johnny Ramone and Billy Corgan!!
*Shrieking sobs into pillow for 9 hours*
Shit, next you'll tell me biker culture is infested with white supremacy.
Yeah I like those first four or five Ramones albums, and they're such a hugely important band...but the Ramones, as guys, were major league dumbasses. It's gotta be said. Watch any interview with them, they make Mafia goons look like Einstein.
I say it with love, I guess. I mean, for all I know they didn't even really vote. Johnny Ramone was a Bush supporter though. I don't know that Billy Corgan is actually right wing but he has said nice things about Alex Jones, who doesn't seem to have been very loud lately, but I pronounced Ann Coulter dead for awhile and she's still running her yap, so fffffttt.
*Squirms guiltily*
I just have the Ramones greatest hits album.
....and it just has the oldies, no "Pet Semetary".
