Superheroes Five: Part 2, Marvel.

Was supposed to start on these yesterday, but lagged behind, so you're getting two today.

Last year.

Superheroes Four: Part 2, Marvel.

Like with the DC ones, let's go back to where we left off...
*Skim, skim...*

Like DC, Marvel laid down their slate.
We were aaaalmost about to hear that Sony had cut a deal, and Spidey was in the MCU.
And Avengers & Ant-Man weren't out yet.

Then, by February, we learned...

Spidey was in the MCU.
...and some TV stuff for a later post.

Now, here we go.
I'm just gonna mash Disney and Fox together, because, well, fuck it...

Avengers: Age Of Ultron (2015)

It's come out, I've seen it, got it on blu-ray.

Ant-Man (2015)

Its come out, I've seen it (twice), and blu-ray is soon.

Fantastic Four (2015)

It came out, I saw it, and it's already gone down in cinema history as a cosmic flop the likes of "Battlefield Earth".
It's morbidly fascinating though, so I might still collect it.
Shit, I own "Howard The Duck".
Why not?
As for "Fantastic Four 2", those plans were quietly shoved into the chipper-shredder in the dead of night. Bring it up at Fox, you'll only hear cricket song.

Deadpool (2016)

Coming in February, and on my list.
This exists, and is rated R, thanks to fan willpower.
All hail the power of the internet.

Captain America: Civil War (2016)

Coming May 6th.

The start of phase three.

Cap's team will be Winter Soldier, Falcon, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, and Agent 13 (Agent Carter's granddaughter).

Tony's team will be Black Panther, Vision, Black Widow, and War Machine.

The trailer makes it look like Scarlet Witch will be with Cap too.

William Hurt will reprise Thunderbolt Ross from "The Incredible Hulk".

Lady Sif is also supposed to show up to tie it to "Thor Ragnarok".

And last but not least, Spider-Man is going to show up, and they're keeping him top secret.
No glimpse in the trailer, nothing in the magazines, no cel-phone set pics, nothing.
They've got Spidey as tightly locked down as Luke in "The Force Awakens".

X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

May 27th
Story details and character pics right here.

What excites me, is it's in the 80's in all its garish day-glo glory.
The decade where the X-Men comic was in its biggest heyday.
This is the real X-Men movie I've been waiting for.
Very excited.
Very.

Bryan Singer says he's up for two more after this starting in 2017.

Gambit (2016)

This one bounced all around.
Multiple directors quitting, Channing Tatum's in, he's out, he's in, he's out, he's in.
Well, the smoke seems to have cleared, and they look to be on track.
Last known projected release date, October 7th 2016.
We'll see.

Dr. Strange (2016)

November 4th.
In production right now!

Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, and featuring Tilda Swinton, Mads Mikkelson, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

I could watch that cast eat breakfast at Denny's, so there's no way this can fail.

Wolverine 3 (2017)

Jackman's last go at the role before retiring the character.
Oh, I'm sure he'll be re-casted, and rebooted, but, y'know.
Damn, he's been Wolverine since 2000.
8 films, possibly 9 if he cameos in Apocalypse.
A whole generation's grown up on him.
Wow.
Gonna be something to contemplate when it's over.
Gonna be the same when Robert Downy hangs up the golden mask.

No word on plot, but everyone's dancing around "Old Man Logan", but refusing to confirm.
Only word is on casting, and the only word on that is Patrick Stewart is also in it.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

Volume 2, like the soundtrack tape, y'see.
Everything on this one's top secret.
May 5th.

Untitled Spider-Man Reboot (2017)

As mentioned up top, Sony and Disney cut a deal, and Spidey is being rebooted into the MCU.
Sony produces the Spidey movies, but they get to use the MCU universe, Marvel gets Spidey back to use in their movies.
Starting in "Civil War".

He's finally casted, and it's Tom Holland.
And Marissa Tomei is Aunt May.

No word on plot or villain.

Date is July 28th.

Thor Ragnarok (2017)

So, where are Thor and Hulk during "Civil War"?
In this flick.
Yep, Ruffalo is Hulk in this one, and it looks like a buddy adventure between the two.
We're full circle back to "The Incredible Hulk Returns".
I dig it.
Had no enthusiasm for this after "Dark World", now I'm all in.
Date is November 8th.

Black Panther (2018)

Of course, he starts in "Civil War".
Nothing else on this one, except that the release has been bumped around a lot.
This, and "Ragnarok".
Date is February 16th so far.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 (2018)

See graphic.

Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)

And this is the one that did a bunch of bumping around dates for the others.
Marvel is so smart, I bet they had this up their sleeve all along.

And I echo Hope Pym's sentiment "about damned time".

March 8th

Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 (2019)

Again, see graphic.

Inhumans (2019)

And I'm thinking a lot of stuff from "Agents Of Shield", will finally come to a head here.

Mystery movies (2020)

There are 3 slots opened up in 2020, and the internet has been trying to guess them.
IIII have no idea.
Lots of things I'd love it to be.
She-Hulk would be good.
She's the queen of Marvel, and Stan Lee's final character.
Gotta get her in there someday.
Um....I dunno, all my other favorites have had movies already.
We'll see.
Time will tell.

Oh, and lastly, for this list, after the "First Class", trilogy is done, rumor is, they're going to reboot the X-Men 'verse with new blood, and do "The New Mutants".

And, "Kickass 3", is still dead.

So, that's Disney/Fox, now it gets trickier.

Micronauts (????)

See here for the comic.

Used to be licensed to Marvel for the comics, and under them, they interacted with the classic heroes.
Now, the movie will be done by Paramount, and based on the toy, with no reference to the comics.
I say, fuck you, it's a big part of Marvel history, it's going into my Marvel canon.
...as long as it doesn't suck.

ROM (????)

See here, and here.

Admittedly, a big "maybe".

Micronauts and ROM are being relaunched, absent connection to Marvel canon, under IDW.
IDW also has Transformers.

Also, ROM was created by Parker Brothers, who are now owned by Hasbro, who also license Transformers to Paramount.
And, I've heard whispers through the grapevine a ROM movie is coming.
But not from super solid sources.

Paramount could do ROM too, and I could ignore everything, and put that in my Marvel universe as well.
And if it happens, I'm gonna.
Try and stop me.

And....I'm done!

Next up, Off-brand superheroes.

That puts it in between Infinity War 2, and Inhumans.
