A vile little song sung by Kenny Rogers that always creeped me the fuck out as a kid.

I'm glad I don't hear it on the radio anymore, cuz it's just fucking horrendous.

Guy's dad goes to jail. Dad tells him to turn the other cheek, and not make his mistake of being a violent asshole.

The guys in his neighborhood get word he's a pacifist, and mess with him.

He evades conflict. This only delights the bullies all the more.

Our protagonist falls in love, and marries.

The bullies gang rape his wife.

He snaps, and beats everyone up.

The lesson is, pacifism is for fruits; Murca, fuck yeah.

They made a movie of this where Kenny Rogers joins in on the beat down of the rapists, and the protagonist joins the military.

Because, Murca, fuck yeah.

Fun fact: the rapists are named after a guy who gently teased the songwriter. 

Country was petty and nasty long before gangsta rap ever came around. 

Anyway, country hee-haws just voted for a rapist, so apparently, they side with the villains of this song, rendering any other point it ever tried to make moot.

Reason I bring it up; I'm setting this up for the next post.
