Finally acknowledging Section 31.

Ohhh, aaalll riiight!!

Okay, so here's the deal.

This came out in January, and life shit was going on, so I didn't even wanna deal with it.

Then I forgot it. 

Then, in May, my computer died, and I had 80% of my shit backed up, but that last 20% had some important shit in there.

I "borrowed" my Ma's desktop computer she couldn't use any more, and hadn't in years, and did the brain/soul transplant.

Not knowing Ma had 2 months to live, and the loan would be a permanent inheritance.

So, just yesterday, I finally got an adapter kit to get into my old harddrive with USB and get my last 20% back. And in there was my "future blogs to do" list. And in that was "acknowledge Section 31".

I was like "oh, shit, yeah!".

Totally skipped my mind. A bunch of little old (and more important) memories like that came back to me through that transfer.

So, this thing has a category, and a tag, and everything, so may as well close off the tag, and finish it off.

Tawny Newsome (Mariner on LD) is going to co-showrun the 12th show (Starfleet Academy being 11) which will be the first live-action Trek comedy, and set in the 25th century.

So...guess we're getting this instead of Legacy.

I have a hard time being sad if it's gonna be a Tawny Newsome show.

A Trek insider says calm down about Rachel Garrett in "Section 31"; she's just a cameo.

So much for her being the hero we want.

A Marvel insider says temper your expectations for number of cameos in "Deadpool & Wolverine".

Sounds like it's going to be another "Multiverse of Madness" situation. Sigh.

The good news though is "'Secret Wars' is where it really gets crazy".

And now another goddamned Star TREK show!

Star Trek: Section 31 (2019??)

Michelle Yeoh will play the lead.

Section 31 is Starfleet's evil dirty spy organization.
Michelle Yeoh's character (in ST:Discovery), Captain Georgiou, got eaten by Klingons, and replaced with her Mirror-Universe opposite, Empress Georgiou, who had to pretend to be Captain Georgiou to fool the Klingons, and then got enlisted by Section 31 at the end of the finale.
So, apparently, that's gonna spin off.

They floated the idea of a Section 31 show back when they created ST:Enterprise.
The three choices they ran past focus groups (translation- ya-fucking-hoos off the street) were a prequel (which is what they went with for Enterprise), Section 31, or a Borg show.
Despite whining by fans, they went with the right one.

There's certain ideas that float through Hollywood that they never let go of.
Sometimes they're good, oftentimes they're rotten, but executives fall in love with them, and they become unkillable cockroaches.
I hated the Section 31 idea back in the day, but if Michelle Yeoh is on board, sign me up.

So, that's Return Of Picard, Lower Decks, and now this.
That takes us up to series 9.
One more will get us to 10!
That's double the series count in 2 years!
Not too shabby!
Considering we had to wait 50 years for the first 5 to play out.

I'm betting on Starfleet Academy being 10.

Personally, I won't count the Wrath Of Khan prequel miniseries towards the numbering, because I fold Animated, Classic Movies, and JJ-Movies back into TOS as extra episodes, so if Khan-prequel goes between TOS and Classic Movies, that's still just more of TOS.
