Miscellaneous Company Crossovers (part 4)

Ahhh, now, the grand finale.

Last batch was some leftovers, let's start with the leftover leftovers....

Well, we can't go wrong starting with good ol' reliable Batman....

The Darkness/Batman

Batman meets the same emo hitman dude who met Hulk 3 entries ago.

So...that's a vicarious DC/Marvel crossover...

Hmm...probably the best of this particular batch I read (which doesn't say too much), and...a bit better than the Hulk one.

We get to see Emo-Hitman's powers operate more, I guess he can summon darkness, and mold it onto things, including little goblin henchmen, and his super-costume.
And, I guess his hero name is actually The Darkness.

Liked his goblins, they reminded me of the little "Diiee!! Diiee!!", demon in "Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night".

See a bit more of this guy's backstory this time too...hmm, troubled guy, dark past, powers come from a source of evil he wrestles to control, um...yup, Spawn ripoff.

Know what though?
I liked this a helluva lot better than Spawn/Batman.
I liked this character a helluva lot better than Spawn too.

Oh, doesn't mean I was dippy about the book, it was tolerable, but in the long run, forgettable, just means the Spawn crud was worse.

Yeah, that's right, a merely tolerable book was the best one...

Batman/Danger Girl: Dangerous Connections

Batman meets um...Charlie's Angels...pretty much.
Well...erm, Joker and Harley are pretty good in this...*cough*

Danger Girl and the Army Of Darkness

Haven't read it, don't wanna.
Good enough to know DG is glue for a vicarious Ash/Batman crossover.

Also, she's gonna be in Infestation 2, so, there, that hooks up Ash, and thus the zombies in Infestation 1 indeed tied to Marvel Zombies.

Thank you, Blonde Tomb Raider.
Or, Charlie Angel, or...grownup Totally Spy, or...eh.

Gen 13: issues 13A, 13B, and 13C

Um, it's in dream parody form, but, this is pretty much Gen 13 meets everybody.

Okay, Grunge pines after a chromium cover collector edition comic book at a convention, some creepy guy slips him a copy in a men's bathroom; for some reason, he passes out, goes into "Wizard of Oz", mode, and goes on a quest where he meets...*deep breath*

...the Archie gang, the Ninja Turtles, Bone, Savage Dragon, (parody versions of..) Wonder Woman & Hulk, Spawn, Madman, The Maxx, (a parody of) Lady Death, Witchblade, Shi, Strangers in Paradise, Hellboy, Monkey Man & O'Brien, Wolverine, and for some reason, Tony Robbins.

He kills the monster at the end with the chromium comic, wakes up, and gives it to some nerd who wants it more, macks on pink haired chick, the end.

Yeah, okay, it was a dream, but, I can six-degrees this to Freddy, and Freddy rules say dreams are real, so, nyah.

Sonic Super Special #7

Sonic The Hedgehog and his pals meet Spawn, Savage Dragon, The Maxx, and...some other Image folks.

I hear the Sonic comic was quite popular in its time.
And, fans of it tell me it was well written, and quite involved.
Whole thought out little world the writers had going on there.
Hey, kiddies, ya shoulda been there for the wild places they took the Marvel run of Transformers...

Haven't read this, but, a plot breakdown can be found here.

Hey, wouldn't it be a bitch if I missed reading the best of this lot?
That...would be typical.

So, Sonic, that completes the last of the comics, and bridges us over into games.
I could jump into a whole fresh new category...but screw it, I'm gonna power through all of these, and get this fucking done!

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games

So, Sega collapsed as a console company, now they develop games for Nintendo, so, now Sonic and Mario can co-exist, where formerly, they mostly denied all existence of each other.

Man, who knew the big Sega/Nintendo crossover would come about this way, eh?

So, Sonic in Nintendoland....that takes us to...

Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Eh, we don't need the prequels do we?
It's like the upgrade versions of Street Fighter 2, you've got all the same guys, plus, the new guys.
Is a downgrade really a prequel?

So, this merges the whole Nintendo-verse in characters, even fucking R.O.B, and, adds Sonic, and Solid Snake from Konami.

So, naturally, this has Link, and that takes us to...

Soul Caliber II

...which also has some Tekken guys, and Spawn.

This then led to...

Soul Calibur IV

Which has all of the other guys, and adds Darth Vader, Yoda, and Starkiller from "The Force Unleashed".

Hah, now, get this, Star Trek and Star Wars for some reason have always violently avoided having a crossover, but here's where Uncle George finally slipped up.

Vader/Yoda are in this, as is Link, who's in Smash Bros with Sonic, who met Spawn, who met Batman, who co-exists in DC with The Legion Of Superheroes,  who met the Enterprise Crew.

5 degrees. Bam.
Not too shabby.
Closer than it was before.
They co-exist now, it can't be denied anymore.
And it can't be undone.
Neither can the classic trilogy, Georgie Boy.

So, anyway, this game was followed by Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny whot's got Kratos from "God of War", and will be followed by SC V, which'll have the Assassin's Creed guy.

Kratos y'say?
Why he happens to pop up in...

Mortal Kombat (2011)

...and as I stitched onto the bottom there, also has Freddy!

Who...fought Ash, who met Danger Girl, who met Batman, who met Spawn, who met Grunge from Gen 13.

Told you I could six-degree that one to Freddy to make dreams count.

And while we're on remotely connecting MK to Batman, let's cut out the middle steps with...

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe

Bam, yeah, so, this happened.

Let's backtrack a bit, there were Tekken guys in Soul Calibur, that takes us to...

Street Fighter X Tekken

Oh, how I love you Capcom, not just for the wonderful games that brought me so much joy to my life, but you did a lot of heavy lifting for me here.

A great fucking company.
They're the 80's Marvel of video games.

Hey, speaking of 80's Marvel...

Marvel vs. Capcom

Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh, fuckin YEAH!

Wow...the roster of characters in this is fucking thorough, I'll just toss up the Wiki-link.

Linky.

Aaand, that vicariously connects Marvel & DC again...but, we didn't need it, cuz they're already heavily connected.

And, good ol' Capcom didn't stop there, they also did...

Namco X Capcom

...and...

SNK/Capcom

...and...

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars

..which...among other things, seems to cross them with Gatchaman, but if they left out Speed Racer, that's a crime.
Flying House, and Superbook would be a riot, but I won't hold my breath on those ones.

Okay, now for one, that at first, I thought smacked into a crossover dead-end...

Kingdom Hearts (series)

Okay, this one, besides crossing with the Final Fantasy-verse, is pretty sweet for merging the whole Disney-verse.

Not just Mickey, and Donald, and Goofy, and all the traditional animated films you think of, but Pooh is in there, you gotcha Pirates Of The Caribbean, you got fuggin TRON in there, and...ooo!!
Ooo!! The Halloweentown gang is there!!
EEEE!!!

Ahem...anyway, I thought this hit a continuity cul-de-sac at first, but then, I remembered....

Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Yep, Disney meets Warners for the first and last time.
But, like those classic Star Wars, and Soul Calibur IV,  they can't undo it.
It's in the culture now.

Anyway, Donald meets Daffy, and then Daffy becomes....

Duck Dodgers

...and Duck dodgers met The Green Lantern Corps, and that connects back to DC, who're owned by Warners, and that connects to everything DC connects to, and BAM, that's everything.

All the game companies, comic companies, sci-fi, action, horror, all of it.

Boom.

Done.

And who knew?

Sonic the Hedgehog, and Daffy Duck, would be the glue.

The true guardians of timespace.

Well, you seek crazy answers, you get' em.
Phew, wow, huh?

Man, and to think I just wanted to do that first batch of old ones, but...the compulsive completest in me wouldn't let me stop...

Up next, enough fuggin' crossovers (okay, one more), time for hero flicks.

Sonic the Hedgehog . . . and Daffy Duck . . .

I see them . . . standing, back to back, arms crossed, gazes stern and resolute . . . superimposed over a slowly receding star-shot background of the galaxy . . . both rim-lit with eldritch chi-fire, like Sho Nuff in 'Last Dragon' . . . cue Queen:

"Heeeeeeeeeere we are . . . born to be kings . . . we're the princes of the uuuuuuuuniverrrrrse . . . !"
