After the New Coke debacle, a conspiracy theory came up that Coke created and destroyed New Coke to increase sales of Coke Classic by pissing everyone off.
The CEO of Coke said "we're not that smart, and not that stupid".
Same thing here, us lefties aren't smart enough to create an Elon, and we aren't dumb enough to gamble so many marbles on him.
Nope, Elon really is that stupid. It's not a wrestling angle.
He's genuinely failing this badly.
I always loved that Coke conspiracy.

And as a tweenager for the society observations. But man, I forgot all the casual homophobia when I re-watched his old concerts. And there was that racist/anti-gay meltdown he had that you (or was it Josh?) linked to on one of the old boards.
Peter Serafinowicz was with him on some panel show, and caught him out on it.
He wouldn't drop n-bombs, but he'd dog whistle like a motherfucker.
When I Googled for the headline, Fox News (and only them!) had him as "legendary comedian!".

Anyway, 10 year old me is sad, 47 year old me, not so much.
Oh, yeah, one time Gallagher was on Howard Stern, and Stern asked him if he was racist, and he answered "I don't answer that".
And Stern was like "because if you say 'yes' you're screwed, and 'no' they don't believe you?" and Gallagher just nodded.
Um...why would you ever say yes?
And why not just say 'no' and fuck what anyone said?
And why would that be an accusation at all unless he had said some shady shit he couldn't defend?
I thought that was such a weird way to answer.
And such a weird way Stern let him off the hook.
